LG LH70 42″ HDTV + Blu-ray Theater System

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: June 13, 2009

This is by far the biggest and longest unboxing I've ever done. Took me over 2 and a half hours to carefully unbox and setup this theater system -- a 42" LG LH70 Full HD TV (LG Scarlet) and a 5.1-channel Blu-ray Receiver System (HB954TB). The new LG Scarlet (model LH70) was unveiled last June 3 with sizes ranging from 32" to 47" and above. The test LCD TV I have here is 42" and only 1.56 inch thick on the side, the thinnest of all LG TVs ever. Specifications Perfect Slim 39.7mm TruMotion 120Hz Full HD (1920 x 1080)…

Dreaming of an HDTV Christmas

Relevance: 73%      Posted on: November 9, 2006

My brother and I had dinner at Marc's bachelor pad the other night where he introduced me to his brand new Samsung 32-inch HDTV and an X-Box 360. He jokingly adds "there goes the seo contest prize money!". The HDTV was a real beauty and I was actually dreaming of one lately. If by any chance any of you have recently visited Abensons, you would have noticed the Samsung sale. Looks like there are newer models to come our way this coming holiday -- what with the hard-to-ignore sale on HDTVs? Here's the big winner: If you buy a 32"…

{Live @ CEL} The centerpiece at the Panasonic booth is this ginourmous 103-incher HDTV. Stood beside it and had my photo taken for perspective. The story on the floor is that at least 10 people already bought this plasma TV. If you want to have one of these sitting in your living room, just write a check for Php2.4 million.

Samsung’s snazzy Home Theater System

Relevance: 62%      Posted on: May 2, 2008

Got this in the Inbox earlier. It's the new line of compact home theater-in-a-box systems from Samsung. The models I specifically liked are the HT-X710 and X715 series. For desktop PC speakers, I've always been an Altec Lansing fan for almost a decade now. My home theater system is a Samsung though (HT-TZ515) that came as a promo with the 32" HDTV I bought a year ago. I still got that Saitek iFreedom 2.1 Wireless Speakers from last year but I seldom use it now except for hooking up with my iPod. My PC still uses a 4-year old Altec…

Philips breaks away from conventional TV design with the announcement of the DesignLine HDTV that leans on your wall. Manufactured by TP Vision, the DesignLine HDTV is a sleek living room companion that features a display mounted with one seamless, gradient black sheet of glass. In standby mode, the TV's frameless glass front displays a smooth, translucent flow from black opaque to transparent, which becomes invisible when watching TV. What separates the DesignLine HDTV from other TVs is that it is designed to lean casually on your wall instead of being mounted or placed on a base. "We really wanted…

Google just announced an upcoming change in its AdSense Program that allows Publishers to modify their ads without changing the code. The ad code management will then be centralized in the AdSense panel. This new ad management feature means that your ad unit settings (such as colors and channels) for new AdSense for content ad units will be saved in your AdSense account every time you generate ad code. Then, if you'd like to change any of these settings in the future, all you do is make the update within your account -- you'll no longer need to manually replace…

Yesterday, Samsung Philippines introduced their new line of HDTVs just in time for the Christmas shopping season -- the Series 7 and Series 8 LCD TV with 46" and 52" models. Despite the premium price tag of Php250,000 for the 52" model, Samsung Series 8 HDTV makes it up with a ton of features: Full HD @ 1080p (1920×1080 pixel resolution) 70,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) function 120Mhz frame rate Not the slimmest in the market but at 1.8", that's thinner than the other previous models.
