Google’s new Content Referral Network

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: June 23, 2006

Google is currently testing it's CPA campaign called Content Referral Network. CPA means cost-per-action and differs from the regular AdSense CPC method because CPA requires that a visitor clicks AND performs an action -- like filling up a form, buying a product or service. A copy of the Google invitation to the network can be found here: Google Launches ValueClick Killer. Of course, a whole lineup of existing companies will become direct competitors of the Content Referral Network which includes ValueClick, Commission Junction and Direct Track, among others. What will this mean for site owners, webmaster and bloggers? Well, it's…

Getting your food delivered via FoodPanda

Relevance: 86%      Posted on: August 13, 2014

There have been several online food deliveries in the country for years now and another player from Rocket Internet was launched a couple of months ago, Food Panda. We tried making our lunch and snacks delivered via Food Panda to see how it goes. The steps are pretty easy whether it's on their website or thru the Food Panda app. Just set your current location and it will look for all restaurants that's in the Food Panda listing. Pick a resto and choose from their menu into your cart. Once done, you'll be asked for your delivery address and additional…

Pictures from the Pampanga Food Trip

Relevance: 72%      Posted on: August 13, 2006

These pictures were taken yesterday during our whole day road trip in Pampanga. (Ajay has the scoop here.) We visited several culinary hotspots and I thought this was a good opportunity to road-test my digital Canon Rebel XT. It certainly never failed me. The picture below may be the best shot I ever took during the entire trip: The Face of Pampanga The kids here were selling me bamboo flutes. I would buy one but I gave them a Php10 talent fee for posing so candidly. *hehehe* Will do detailed posts over at PinoyTravelBlog during the week. Bespren Genesis Abe…

Centralized Google AdSense Ad Management

Relevance: 69%      Posted on: October 24, 2007

Google just announced an upcoming change in its AdSense Program that allows Publishers to modify their ads without changing the code. The ad code management will then be centralized in the AdSense panel. This new ad management feature means that your ad unit settings (such as colors and channels) for new AdSense for content ad units will be saved in your AdSense account every time you generate ad code. Then, if you'd like to change any of these settings in the future, all you do is make the update within your account -- you'll no longer need to manually replace…

R.I.P.: Yahoo! Publisher Network

Relevance: 65%      Posted on: April 27, 2010

Last March, Yahoo! emailed all of its publishers that it will discontinue running its Publisher Network (YPN) by April 30, 2010. YPN is Yahoo's own version of the more popular Google AdSense Network. The Yahoo! Publisher Network was launched way back in 2005 but never really went beyond the shores of the United States. I've actually signed up with YPN back in 2006 but was still put on hold since I'm not yet qualified. Since then, I've been getting regular email announcements about the network. Too bad it will close before we even get to try it here in the…

You like Jap food?

Relevance: 64%      Posted on: July 18, 2005

Went to host a party last week-end at the Valle Verde for our company mid-year celebration. Most of the food served were Japanese cuisine (read: raw). Good thing I was able to grab dinner before hitting the party. I took solace in taking them pictures though: Looks like I'm becoming the team's official photographer. Taken using my Canon Ixus 30 (3.2MP). More pictures.

Performancing is launching an Ad Network specifically for bloggers. Dubbed Performancing Partners, the main goal of the ad network is to open the floor for bloggers to generate more passive income on top of direct income from their blogs. The ads will be non-contextual so you can run them alongside your Google AdSense or YPN ads. Two revenue models are being put in place -- Direct advertising on a monthly flat fee basis based on recommended CPM for category type, and CPA (cost per aquisition). Success of such a niche ad network will highly depend on the people behind it…

Which is the better content?

Relevance: 62%      Posted on: December 2, 2005

I think it was monday evening when Marc, Markku and I had a short dinner and drinking spree somewhere in the Mandaluyong area (was it the PVL Food Center beside the Good Shepherd Catholic School?). As usual topics abound -- from your daily AdSense dose, corporate BS, future blogging projects/plans, to world domination. We touch something on "online content", not much on who owns it but for what it's worth. Yes, again, it has got something to do with PBB and whole bruhaha of SEO campaigns and experiments. "Take for example a blog with lots of original pictures and a…
