Centralized Google AdSense Ad Management

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: October 24, 2007

Google just announced an upcoming change in its AdSense Program that allows Publishers to modify their ads without changing the code. The ad code management will then be centralized in the AdSense panel. This new ad management feature means that your ad unit settings (such as colors and channels) for new AdSense for content ad units will be saved in your AdSense account every time you generate ad code. Then, if you'd like to change any of these settings in the future, all you do is make the update within your account -- you'll no longer need to manually replace…

Sony Japan tour on Bravia 4K & Magnetic Fluid Speakers

Relevance: 97%      Posted on: August 14, 2013

We spent the entire week last week doing the tour of Sony Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan to get a closer look at their 4K technology and its commercial application as well as a better appreciation of the Bravia 4K. We're already quite familiar with 4K TV from last year so the debate about full HD vs. 4K is mostly settled. We're already very used to display resolution in smartphones that go as high as 441ppi. For ultra HD TVs, the highest resolution we've seen so far is about 80ppi only. That's for a 55-inch 4K TV with a resolution of…

Dell officially quits smartphone business

Relevance: 93%      Posted on: December 16, 2012

Dell has recently announced that it's leaving the smartphone business for now and will shift their focus and attention in making competitive Windows tablets instead. Dell's head of consumer business, Jeff Clarke, recently confirmed at the Dell World conference that it is quitting the smartphone business, saying that "It needs a lot of investments to really be successful." As Clarke sees it, "It’s a content play with Android. Amazon is selling books and Google is making it up with search. So far we couldn’t find a way to build a business on Android." But even after throwing in the towel,…

The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has started the pilot testing of the new ticketing system at LRT-2 Legarda Station. [Image Credit] The modernized ticketing system – which makes use of a new card called “beep card” – is the first transport public-private partnership project (PPP) between DOTC and AF Payments who won the Php1.3 billion contract for the new Automated Fare Collection System (AFCS) project. Under the AFCS agreement, AF Payments will put up and maintain 731 gates, 138 ticket vending machines (TVM) and 212 point-of-sale devices on all LRT-1, LRT-2 and MRT-3 stations. . . . one…

I need a kick-ass business card.

Relevance: 91%      Posted on: August 26, 2006

In the last 2 meetings that I went to, I realized I already ran out of business cards. The 200 pieces I got 18 months ago are all gone. Now I need a new one, actually two, One for the business and another specific to my blogging profession. I need them before I leave for Taiwan in September. Any suggestions for a good shop to print them? I think 250 for each card design would be enough. If you know someplace around Makati who does them well and fast, please point me to the right direction.

National Book Store to get into eBook business?

Relevance: 90%      Posted on: January 3, 2011

Got this from a reliable source that National Book Store (NBS) is planning to get into the ebook business. I was a little surprised at first but considering that NBS is the biggest book retailer in the country, going into the eBook business this early makes good business sense. Aside from distributing thousands of book titles, NBS also publishes a few titles themselves. They also got an online store thats been running for years. It's too early to tell how the eBooks will be distributed but it could either be implemented via an online store or via on-site transfer (within…

LG FB163 Micro Hi-Fi System

Relevance: 88%      Posted on: March 6, 2009

This LG speaker system was waiting for me when I got back home, the FB163 -- a 15-kg DVD player and sound system that's also made for the iPod. The FB163 is all black and shiny. Connects fine with most iPods including the iPhone 3G. The front panels are touchpad-controlled and looks and functions much like the clickwheel of the iPod (plus the glowing effect). The stereo system is loud and crisp, powered by two front speakers each rated at 80 watts. I have yet to play with it some more. You'll see what's my approval rating once I put…

LG LH70 42″ HDTV + Blu-ray Theater System

Relevance: 87%      Posted on: June 13, 2009

This is by far the biggest and longest unboxing I've ever done. Took me over 2 and a half hours to carefully unbox and setup this theater system -- a 42" LG LH70 Full HD TV (LG Scarlet) and a 5.1-channel Blu-ray Receiver System (HB954TB). The new LG Scarlet (model LH70) was unveiled last June 3 with sizes ranging from 32" to 47" and above. The test LCD TV I have here is 42" and only 1.56 inch thick on the side, the thinnest of all LG TVs ever. Specifications Perfect Slim 39.7mm TruMotion 120Hz Full HD (1920 x 1080)…
