On-page Google Adsense for Search

Relevance: 94%      Posted on: August 17, 2006

Found out the other day that Google has released a code for its Adsense for Search which allows publishers to display search results on-page (used to be off-page that pops out on a new browser window.) From the AdSense blog, they provided instructions on how to implement this. To use it, just choose the "Open results within my own site" radio button when you're generating your AdSense for search code. You'll also need to identify the page where you'd like to display your search results. We'll give you two sets of code: one for the search box, and one for…

SEO experts say that Google Pagerank is a thing of the past -- it's not that realiable as it was before of a true measure of a site's improtance. Hundreds of other factors play a role and most SEO professionals who really knows their stuff relies on these other factors. Marc shares with us this new tool by SEOmoz Page Strength Tool. SEOmoz's Page Strength tool is intended to serve as an alternative to Google's PageRank score in the toolbar, offering insight into how valuable, important and popular a site or page is as compared to others on the web.…

Globe iPhone 4S Promo Page shows 100 units only?

Relevance: 92%      Posted on: November 29, 2011

The pre-order page on Globe's website may have been taken down but the promo page is still up and indicates only "100 units" are allocated for pre-order. Since we know it's not official out yet, that 100 units on the counter looks like a placeholder number for now. But even if that were the case, the design gives us an impression that the reservations will be for just 999 units or lower. Just look at that page below. We're still anticipating the launch of the iPhone 4S within December and if this is any indication, I think Globe is just…

MetroDeal buys Bigalaang Lakad Fan Page?

Relevance: 90%      Posted on: June 1, 2011

New group-buying site, Metro Deal, buys popular Facebook Fan Page of "Buti Pa Ang Biglaang Lakad Natutuloy; Ang Planado, Hindi!" with over 500,000 fans. Ok we're not really sure if there's a sale but MetroDeal has already taken control of the FB Page since it launched. The biggest challenge for new group-buying sites is attracting new email subscribers, Twitter followers and Facebook Fans. The usual approach is to do ad campaigns on FB, Google Adwords and other ad networks which is very expensive, just like what Ensogo did. Buying an already popular FB Fan Page is definitely a cheaper and…

Leaked iPhone 4S Pre-order Page from Globe Telecom

Relevance: 89%      Posted on: November 24, 2011

An anonymous source gave us this link of the pre-order page for the iPhone 4S from Globe Telecom. This could mean we're really almost close to the launch of the iPhone 4S in the Philippines (but we already knew that from Globe's CEO a couple days ago). The page is typical of the pre-order page of Globe when they do online reservations for the iPhone (as we've seen in the last several years). Double-checked it several times and it looks like it's nowhere to be found on Globe's homepage which tells us this is still "unofficial". What's interesting is that…

Pingdom Tools: Full Page Test

Relevance: 85%      Posted on: July 6, 2007

Dave sent me a link to this new tool from Pingdom -- it's a Full Page Test load. The Full Page Test loads a complete HTML page including all objects (images, CSS, JavaScripts, RSS, Flash and frames/iframes). It mimics the way a page is loaded in a web browser. The load time of all objects is shown visually with time bars. You can view the list of objects either in load order or as a hierarchy. The hierarchy view allows you to see which objects are linked to in for example a CSS file. Every test also shows general statistics…

Smart’s iPhone 5S & 5C pre-order page goes live

Relevance: 84%      Posted on: October 25, 2013

MVP-led telco also wasted no time in coming up with their own pre-order page, allowing early adopters to get first dibs on the upcoming iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. Unlike Globe’s pre-order page, Smart went for a more straightforward approach, asking only basic info like first and last name, as well as the user’s email address. After submitting the request, you’ll receive an email notification telling you that “You are now one step ahead in finding out on how to be one of the first to get the iPhone 5c & 5s”, which you probably already know in the first…

Page eCPM Down: Is AdSense going broke?

Relevance: 83%      Posted on: March 28, 2009

A number of bigtime AdSense Publishers have shared to me that their Page eCPM has dramatically declined in the last 12 months. Whether this trend coincides with the US financial crisis or something else is yet unsure. One might even ask the question "Is Google AdSense going broke?" I downloaded my AdSense data for the last 15 months and plotted the eCPM as shown below. Indeed, the trend is significantly visible. There could be several reasons for this downward trend and let's try to look at it from a wider perspective: Fewer Competition. Since AdSense is driven by the competition…
