Power Saver Max, Wattage-Zapping Device

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: January 11, 2009

I'm sure a lot of you have seen this on HSN or in the malls -- that wattage-zapping device which claims could lower your electricity bill by as much as 30%. I got curious so we tried it out several months ago. The theory behind the device is that it normalizes the current running thru the house (hundreds of meters of copper wiring running thru the walls) and thus reducing the power consumed thereby lowering the electric bill. I'm no electrical engineer so I can really explain it very well so an actual test should be in order. The device,…

Power Saver Max on Power Usage

Relevance: 96%      Posted on: April 12, 2010

Over a year ago, I blogged about this little power-saving device which promises to lower electricity usage in the household. I thought it would be wise to look at all the data points and review the performance of the device. The data points I've collected include all the last 13 months that we've been using this Power Saver Max. In order to minimize extraneous factors (and margins of errors), I've taken note of the electrical appliances we used at home: 2 x desktop computers, 1 laptop 1 x 6.5cu. ft. ref 1 x 42" LCD TV, 1 x 32" LCD…

Imation LINK Power Drive Power Bank/Flash Drive Quick Review

Relevance: 67%      Posted on: April 1, 2015

This is what the Imation LINK Power Drive aims to solve as it carries a 3000mAh battery and at the same time a 32GB flash drive for additional storage.  The LINK definitely looks like an ordinary power bank -- with its square form factor, thick sides, and a button on its face…
