Nepal gets Battery-Powered Cars

Relevance: 68%      Posted on: May 27, 2008

Shree Eco Visionary (SEV) of Nepal has developed battery-powered vehicles from ordinary car batteries. All the more we should be convinced that high-tech innovations can be developed via low-tech means. Their 3-wheeler electric vehicles have been plying the streets of Kathmandu on AC power since 2004. The vehicles run on 2 packs of 6 batteries -- one on the front and another at the back side. The charger can be hooked up on regular house sockets (15 amps) for around 7 to 8 hours. Speed can reach up to 70 kmph. Power consumption costs about $2.50 per 60 km. Equivalent…

World Pyro Olympics Pictures

I guess everyone already knows about the World Pyro Olympics being held the whole week beside the Mall of Asia. It's practically all over the TV, radio and the newspapers. I didn't really took special notice of this a few months back when they asked us at plogHost to be one of their sponsors/benefactors. Since we're already hosting their site, I didn't mind giving them loads of additional bandwidth and space for the pictures and videos. Had I known it would be this big, I could have asked for those tickets as well. :D Anyway, due to heavy traffic and…

Photo World Asia 2009

Relevance: 64%      Posted on: February 1, 2009

The Photo World Asia 2009 is currently being held at the Glorietta Activity Center (started last January 29 until February 4, 2009). Went to the venue yesterday to check out if there are some new stuff to see. Sad to say though but the event seems uneventful. I've been to the same in the last 2 years (Photo World Manila 2007, Photo World Asia 2008) and this year's round-up was smaller than ever. I think the event only took half the space of the activity center and there wasn't much activity going. Of course, the Canon booth always took the…
