EverythingOnline.ph: Net Cafe Franchise in a Box?

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: June 3, 2006

I was going to blog this over at PTB the other day but Mon beat me to it. I went out on a coffee at Starbucks 6750 Thursday evening when I noticed some party happening just beside it. We went out to check on it and found the launching of EverythingOnline.PH (EOL). It was a bit dark and the people at the booth didn't noticed us when we where poking around. I was actually interested in this out-of-the-box solution they were talking about. Anyway, they had the URL printed there so I checked on it when I got home only…

Starbucks Franchise?

Relevance: 95%      Posted on: April 7, 2005

Does Starbucks give out franchise rights? I would love to have my own Starbucks store one day. It's like heaven there and the smell of coffee (or frapuccino for that matter) just releases the stress. It never goes out of season. Besides, the store is a great place to take some shots. :) [tags]starbucks, franchise, starbucks franchise, coffee[/tags]

Are Internet Cafes still a Good Business?

Relevance: 61%      Posted on: March 27, 2008

Been receiving a couple of emails lately (mostly from OFWs but there's one from a Chinese/Taiwanese company) asking if there's still some good business to be made with internet cafes in the Philippines. From accounts of friends and people who've been into the net cafe business as well as what we're seeing in every mall and street alley, there's some mixed reaction. Five years ago, the prospects were better; way better. I myself was thinking of opening up one back then. My excitement was immediately doused after doing the math. Just like any other brick and mortar businesses, there are…

Is Crumpler Closing Its Business in PH?

Relevance: 61%      Posted on: September 2, 2015

That was the question that popped in to our minds when we saw Digital Walker’s Facebook post about the “Closing Down Sale”. According to the post, as Crumpler’s parting gift, consumers can get as much as 70% off if they purchase three (3) or more Crumpler merchandises from September 1 to 15. Consumers who’ll only buy 1 or 2 items are still eligible to receive a generous discount, 50% and 60% respectively. Digital Walker didn’t say which Crumpler items are on sale, but judging by the nature of the post, this sale seems like an everything-must-go kind of thing. [Digital…

PLDT launches Home Bro Ultera BASIC, MAX & PRO

Relevance: 60%      Posted on: April 30, 2014

Yesterday marks the launch of the PLDT Home Bro Ultera which currently consists of three wireless broadband plans powered by TD-LTE (Time-Division Duplex Long Term Evolution) connection designed for home use. Here are the three PLDT Home Bro Ultera plans, its respective bandwidth allocations, as well as its monthly amortization. If you pay close attention to the picture above, you’ll notice that there’s an “xxGB recommended usage for optimum speed” on each of the plans under the new Home Bro Ultera. This is actually a subtle reminder about the monthly cap on PLDT's new wireless LTE broadband services which, if…

I need a kick-ass business card.

Relevance: 59%      Posted on: August 26, 2006

In the last 2 meetings that I went to, I realized I already ran out of business cards. The 200 pieces I got 18 months ago are all gone. Now I need a new one, actually two, One for the business and another specific to my blogging profession. I need them before I leave for Taiwan in September. Any suggestions for a good shop to print them? I think 250 for each card design would be enough. If you know someplace around Makati who does them well and fast, please point me to the right direction.

Dell officially quits smartphone business

Relevance: 58%      Posted on: December 16, 2012

Dell has recently announced that it's leaving the smartphone business for now and will shift their focus and attention in making competitive Windows tablets instead. Dell's head of consumer business, Jeff Clarke, recently confirmed at the Dell World conference that it is quitting the smartphone business, saying that "It needs a lot of investments to really be successful." As Clarke sees it, "It’s a content play with Android. Amazon is selling books and Google is making it up with search. So far we couldn’t find a way to build a business on Android." But even after throwing in the towel,…
