Samsung Series 7 LED TV Unboxed

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: July 25, 2009

Samsung Philippines sent this LED TV over just this morning. I was actually drooling over it when I first saw the TV last April but it's just beyond my budget at the moment so I'll settle for a loaner at the meantime. See unboxed photos after the jump. This 40" Full HD LED TV is prolly the thinnest I've ever seen in the market at just 29.9mm or 1.18 inches (about the same thickness as a regular netbook). The Full HD 1080p has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. I'm not sure but from memory, this LED has a…

Samsung’s ultra-thin LED Full HD TV

Relevance: 74%      Posted on: April 30, 2009

Yesterday, Samsung Electronics unveiled its new ultra-thin 40" to 55" 1080p LED Full HD TV -- the Samsung B6000 and B7000 Series. The new series now uses Light Emitting Diode (LED) instead of the usual Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (CCFL). It's so thin it's no thicker than a regular netbook at just 1.16" and weighs about 16+ kg. These models are for the high-end market so Samsung is only making larger screens (40"/46" for the B6000 and 40"/46"/55" for the B7000 series). What's at the back --2x15watt rms sound output with subwoofer, 2 USB, 4 HDMI, 120Hz frame rate, 16MB…

Samsung previews new 55″ Series 8 LED TV

Relevance: 63%      Posted on: October 15, 2009

A new 55" Samsung Series 8 LED TV is coming out and they'll still be as thin as 1.2 inches. We've had the Series 7 before and this new one adds new features that could well replace a separate media player. Well, that's if you consider the fact that you can now hook up an external HDD via USB to the LED TV and play movies from there or use the internal storage that's been bumped up to 2GB. Despite Samsung's claim that their LED TVs are internet-ready, I still think it's a little crippled. There's ethernet connection and WiFi…

55″ Samsung B8000 Series 8 LED TV

Relevance: 62%      Posted on: December 6, 2009

Samsung Philippines previewed their newest 55-inch LED TV last October, the inch-thick Samsung B8000 Series 8. They sent me one to test out for a week and I'm curious how that internet connectivity feature works. I've tried and review the Series 7 LED TV here before and the 40-incher was great. This Series 8 I am using right now is 55" and way bigger (it dwarfs my 42" and 32" LCD TV at home). (Shown beside the Samsung B8000 is a 42" LCD TV.) Asrock's local distributor sent me an HTPC last week and I have yet to unbox it.…

Samsung Series 7 LED TV Review

Relevance: 61%      Posted on: September 7, 2009

LED TVs are just starting to make an entry into the market and Samsung is one of the very first few ones that's introducing them to consumers. Their entry-level model in the Series 7 is a 40-inch LED TV. This model uses light emitting diodes (LEDs) as its primary light source, rather than traditional cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) found in regular LCD TVs nowadays. At just under 30mm (1.2 inches), the TV is so thin you can practically hang it on the wall (the set just weighs below 15 kg). It sports the classic design with a glossy black…

Samsung wants 4GB DDR4 RAM on next Galaxy phone?

Relevance: 46%      Posted on: December 30, 2013

While we feel that having a 3GB RAM on the Galaxy Note 3 is already overkill, Samsung is planning on producing 4GB DDR4 memory by 2014. That's twice as much as all other flagship smartphones in the market today. Samsung makes their own storage and memory chips so a 4GB RAM isn't far-fetched for next year. It could only mean we'd bee seeing the Samsung Galaxy S5 to have 4GB of RAM. Talk about over-kill. {source}
