The highly anticipated successor of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has once again made the headlines and this time rumor mongers have got a hold of what is believed to be the rumored handset’s AnTuTu benchmark results. And it’s among the chart-toppers if we may add. The results page doesn’t actually name the handset as the Galaxy Note 3, but it shows a model number (GT-N7200) that highly suggests that it is indeed the SGN2’s (GT-N7100) successor. That is of course if the Samsung decides to keep its numbering scheme. Another fascinating information revealed in the result page is that…

Samsung Galaxy S4 scored 11k on Quarant Benchmark

Relevance: 92%      Posted on: March 15, 2013

We managed to get one round of benchmarks for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the results of Quadrant benchmark were very impressive, beating any other handset we've tested before by a mile. Because we had a limited time with the device and connection (both WiFi and 4G) were not good at the venue, we only managed to finish only the Quadrant Benchmark. Samsung reps warned us that the unit we were testing was just a pre-production version so some of the features and functions might not be working pretty well. They requested that we don't continue taking the benchmarks so…

Relevance: 91%      Posted on: April 3, 2013

We got a more exclusive encounter with the Samsung Galaxy S4 last night as the one and only test unit acquired by Globe Telecom finally got into our hands. First thing we did was complete the trio of benchmarks we failed to do during the launch in NY last month. The variant of Galaxy S4 that we had was the i9505 which uses the Snapdragon 600 chip. The Nenamark 2 gave it a score of 60.2fps, a really good frame rate for a full HD 1080p display. With Quadrant, we got an overall score of 12,151 points, which is the…

Relevance: 86%      Posted on: May 4, 2014

The HTC One M8 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 are among the very few handsets to pack the new Snapdragon 801 chip with (MSM8974). We did the usual benchmark tests on the HTC One M8 and compared it with the Galaxy S5 we had on hand. On paper, the Samsung Galaxy S5 has the slightly better chip -- an MSM8974-AC which has a maximum clock speed of up to 2.45GHz, while the HTC One M8 that we have uses an MSM8974AB which only goes up to 2.36GHz. (Note: Antutu, 3DMark and Quadrant are all showing our unit as having MSM8974AB…

Now that we've seen the Samsung Galaxy S3 and tried how the Exynos 4 Quad performs, we tried running a couple f synthetic benchmarks on the handset to see how it fares. We took three (3) of the most common benchmarks that we usually do when reviewing Android smartphones -- Quadrant Standard, Antutu Benchmark and Nenamark 2 -- with the latter focusing on the graphics performance of the smartphone. The Quadrant Standard score that we got with one of the demo units was 5,130 -- the highest we've seen in any smartphone we tested. The Antutu Benchmark score of 10,148…
