Relevance: 96%      Posted on: April 1, 2011

We reported last month that Samsung Philippines will release a WiFi-only variant of their 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab. Turns out the tablet is already here in the Philippines and selling at a discounted price of just Php16,990. Two weeks ago, Samsung jumped the gun and dropped the suggested retail price of the 3G variant of the Galaxy Tab down to Php21,990. The sale happens in all Samsung retailers from April 1 to 17 only. Just asked for the WiFi-only variant if you want to get it at a much cheaper price (that's around Php3k cheaper than the 1st gen iPad).

Samsung outs Galaxy S WiFi 4.2

Relevance: 94%      Posted on: February 29, 2012

Samsung is not done yet with the Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 mini-tablet or media player so they've added an even smaller one -- the Galaxy S WiFi 4.2 which, as you might have guessed it, measures 4.2 inches. It's no surprise that Samsung created another variant of their WiFi-only mini tablets and even though 4.2" isn't that much smaller than the 5.0" they released last year in the Philippines (update: all in all, Samsung has a Galaxy S WiFi 3.6, 4.0 and 5.2 on top of the Galaxy Player 4.0 and 5.0). Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.2 specs: 4.2" IPS…

Relevance: 92%      Posted on: March 1, 2011

According to a reliable source close to Samsung Philippines, the company will be releasing a WiFi-only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab in the Philippines this quarter. That means a more affordable Galaxy Tab will be available in local stores before the end of March 2011. The indicative price, according to our source, is within the vicinity of Php25,000. Not bad but still a bit more expensive by a couple of thousand pesos compared to the entry-level iPad WiFi.

Samsung Galaxy S5 prepaid kit price — Php34,990

Relevance: 86%      Posted on: March 10, 2014

The Php34,990 price is the prepaid kit price from Globe. It is possible that the suggested retail price by Samsung for the Philippines is different (hopefully lower). Last year, Globe was selling the prepaid kit of the Galaxy S4 at Php30,990 which was also the SRP by Samsung. If that is the case, then expect retail stores to be selling the Galaxy S5 in the Php35k range. Globe is also offering the Galaxy S5 on postpaid plans here.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Price — Php30,990

Relevance: 86%      Posted on: April 20, 2013

Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy S4 in the Philippines on April 26, 2013. Last night, we got it on good authority that the suggested retail price of the handset has already been set. Both Smart and Globe will have their separate launch of the handset after April 26. We are not yet sire which of the two variants, the GT-i9500 or GT-i9505, will be available. We will publish…

The much awaited Omnia i900 from Samsung (see specs here) was released in the Philippines yesterday. While everybody is getting frustrated with the supposed Globe iPhone 3G pricing, the Samsung Omnia will definitely be a formidable alternative to the former. The Philippine price is pegged at Php34,000 for the 8GB version and Php38,000 for the 16GB -- unlocked and contract free (up to 32GB with external 16GB microSD card). It's already confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be launched in the Philippines before end of October (that's next week!) and we finally got the retail price down to the dot -- Php34,990 (thanks to our source). The price isn't surprising (though I thought it would be a bit higher by a couple grand) considering its baby brother, the Galaxy S, sells for Php32,000. Samsung cuts Galaxy Tab price to Php21,990

Relevance: 80%      Posted on: March 19, 2011

So, it looks like the tablet market is somehow normalizing with Apple slashing the price of the original iPad down to Php19,990 and now Samsung is following suit and cutting down the Galaxy Tab's suggested retail price to Php21,990. The move does not come as a surprise -- first, Apple's 1st generation iPad has definitely become a great buy to a lot of people looking to get their first tablet and at under Php20k, it scores high on the buyer's list -- Samsung needs to be competitive in their price point as well; second, Samsung will definitely be launching their…
