Fake Nokia Touch Screen TV Phone

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: February 19, 2011

Saw this nice little TV phone tonight, brought home by my brother. At first I thought it was one of those LG Cookie models that has a built-in TV tuner with it but upon closer inspection, turns out it's got a Nokia logo instead. The handset is really small and comes with a full touch screen display. The antenna is considerably longer -- at least 3 times the height of the unit. The touch screen even has that iconic "Slide to Unlock" feature that's totally copied from the iPhone/iOS. At the back, it says the camera is rated at 12.1…

Nokia Touch Phone rumors are true

Relevance: 73%      Posted on: April 10, 2008

Others are calling it the Nokia Tube, though that's not really the real name of this new Nokia Touch UI phone coming out first quarter of 2009. I thought I saw that phone in Singapore during the Ovi launching last year. Nokia denied existence of that touch phone though (see their video presentation with the phone in it). Story and photos exclusive from Symbian Freak: The form factor is similar to the Nokia N73 but a little wider with the following specs: GPRS/EDGE/3G/HSDPA WiFi Bluetooth Global Positioning System (GPS) 2 to 3 megapixel camera 3 to 3.5 inches widescreen with…

Samsung SGH F-500: The DivX Phone

Relevance: 73%      Posted on: December 13, 2007

I've always wondered why most mobile phones use their own video format (3gp) when there are so many other existing ones like Quicktime, MPEG, etc. It would have been easier to view from from your PC to your phone but I guess all those DRM and licensing is getting in the way. Then, there's the Samsung Ultra Phone. This baby plays DivX movies! That's it. And I'm not even gonna say it's runs on HSDPA. The primary screen is a little small though it's hard to browse thru it. The other side, the bigger one, is reserved for playing music…

Samsung Z560: first HSDPA phone in the Philippines?

Relevance: 72%      Posted on: November 7, 2006

Before, I didn't know that 3G and HSDPA were different. The gals from Globe insists that HSDPA is better and calls it 3.5G. So, that's why I'm getting better speeds with Globe Visibility than Smart 3G on 3G covered areas. Then, the other night, they asked me to test a demo phone - the Samsung Z560. It really looks like a Motorola Razr to me. See pics below: They claim it's the 1st HSDPA phone in the country, and probably the rest of South East Asia. The specs: Built-in 2 megapixel camera Allows Video telephony and streaming MP3 ringtone capable…

6th Gen iPod Nano goes full touch-screen

Relevance: 72%      Posted on: September 2, 2010

Apple also re-designed the iPod Nano 6G and added a touch screen on a squarish form factor (reminds me of the 3rd generation fatty nano) that lends a touch of inspiration from the Shuffle two generations ago. iPod Nano 6th-generation : 1.54-inch TFT display @ 240x240 pixel resolution Multi-touch screen Accelerometer FM Radio Pedometer The Nano can last up to 24 hours of music playback but it looks like it has lost the ability to play videos, a feature that was introduced 3 generations before this one. This is probably the most radical change in a product line Apple has…

Nokia leaks another full touchscreen phone

Relevance: 70%      Posted on: December 10, 2008

Nokia is not yet done with touch screen phones that'll go head-to-head with Apple's iPhone. In fact, I think they're just starting. Just take a look at this leaked promotional poster on a new wide touch screen phone. I'm not sure if this will be an ESeries, NSeries or another XpressMusic edition but it sure looks interesting especially that it has a much bigger screen similar to the HTC Touch HD. We might see this finally unveiled next year.

Nokia 101 could be cheapest Nokia dual-SIM phone

Relevance: 69%      Posted on: August 25, 2011

We just saw three new handsets from Nokia last night and today two new ones were announced -- the super-cheap Nokia 100 and the dual-SIM Nokia 101. Following the new naming-system, the Nokia 101 could also be the cheapest dual-SIM phone from Nokia with an estimated retail price of under Php1,500. The candybar handset is pretty basic -- 1.8" screen, FM radio, MP3 player and microSD card slot. Like the Nokia C1-00, it's not dual-standby too Correction: It's dual-standby as well.
