With the help of our tipster, we went to VirraMall to look for the iPed yesterday. The store wasn’t very easy to locate so we had to wander around for a bit before we got there.
Was doing some gadget shopping at the nearby Sunway Pyramid Mall last night when I spotted several SmartBro Plug-It and Sun Wireless Broadband USB dongles being sold in one of the stalls.
Looks like Smart is testing a new service under their SmartBro brand which offers WiFi service to customers. Called the SmartBro WiFi, prepaid users get a Smart Tag with username and password to access WiFi hotspots for just Php10 per 40 minutes.
In a press release, Smart has announced it will be offering netbooks with built-in SmartBro wireless internet as a bundled package. It’s not the regular USB dongle but netbooks with 3G SIM card slots in them.
