A new telco is coming to town and its name is Vodafone. Arguably the largest telecoms company in the world (based on revenues) and the 2nd largest in terms of subscriber base, Vodafone Philippines has started putting up their accounts for the Philippines in preparation for the official launch.

Wi-Tribe doubles Plan 1998 speed to 4Mbps

Wi-Tribe has recently (not sure exactly when) upgraded all the speed limtes of all of their broadband plans, including the top Plan 1998 from 2Mbps to 4Mbps. Not bad considering my PLDT DSL plan is charging the same rate but only pulls down 1Mbps (supposed to be 2Mbps or 3Mbps).

Globe rolls out HSPA+, LTE delayed til 2012

In a press conference earlier today, Globe demonstrated their upgraded mobile internet service using the HSPA+ network which promises to offer an average 4Mbps to 6Mbps to mobile handsets (saw it burst up to 16.4Mbps).
