PLDT intros myBro Plan499 at 512Kbps, capped at 3GB

PLDT has introduced a more affordable plan under their myBro fixed wireless internet services. A new PLDT myBro Plan 499 plan offers up to 512Kbps of WiMax service with a monthly bandwidth cap of only 3GB.

Is there hope for #betterinternet with Smart LTE?

Smart Comm. sent out a release to the media earlier last week announcing that they will be 100% LTE-ready by mid-2012. That’s certainly good news considering that we’re just actually talking about HSPA+ coverage in the past months.

Smart Bro Plan 999 drops to 1Mbps

A reader sent an email last night asking why Smart Bro’s Fixed Wireless Plan 999 has been downgraded to just 1Mbps from 2Mbps starting June 1, 2011. So I double-checked and compared the page using Google Cache and here’s what I got.

It has been revealed by Smart executives in previous media interviews but no concrete details have been announced yet. However, it seems like the telco is introducing its own version of what might be called Smart WiMax.
