KeePass

Relevance: 80%      Posted on: April 13, 2005

I manage several dozens of online accounts with sensitive info so I have to always keep tabs of my login accounts -- 3 online banking accounts, 4 dedicated servers with varying root access, 6 major personal sites with different login access, and several other administrative access to online sites. I stumbled upon KeePass and am using it right now. Together with my Apacer 128MB flash drive, it's almost a perfect security-in-a-pocket. :)

imo.im: Yet another Web IM Client

Relevance: 70%      Posted on: April 11, 2007

Here's another web-based IM client - imo.im. The service runs on Lighttpd, Pidgin (formerly Gaim), Ubuntu, and YUI. They have a blog here and looks like they're the same guys running Aryty of Gorilla Mobile. If you go to that page, a Certificate Authority window will po-up which is kinda annoying. I then tried to log in to all the 4 IMs supported -- YM, AOL, GTalk and MSN. However, I got confused a bit since there's only one buddy list showing up on the page and it's a little hard to identify which IM is which contact you are…

BDO Online implements One-Time Password via SMS

Relevance: 64%      Posted on: May 1, 2013

Earlier this week, BDO implemented a two-factor authentication with their online banking service. Aside from the personal password, BDO is also sending a one-time password (OTP) which customers use to be able to login to the online banking service. This implementation is very similar to what GMail is offering with their 2-step verification process. BDO has only introduced it this week and all customers have the option to enable this in their account profile. This means that aside from your usual personal password, another password is sent to you within minutes of the initial login. The password automatically expires after…

Blog Client and Analytics on Adobe Air

Relevance: 53%      Posted on: September 28, 2007

Two new desktop softwares developed via Adobe Air got me interested lately. Check out Google Analytics Air and Air Press below. Both clients run on Adobe Air which is a cross-operating system runtime that allows web application developers to use their existing web development skills (HTML, Javascript, Adobe Flash®, Adobe Flexâ„¢, Ajax) to build and deploy rich Internet applications to the desktop. You can download a copy of it here. Google Analytics Air is a Google Analytics Reporting suite that takes Google Analytics to your desktop so you don't have to login to a web browser to check your stats.…
