Digital Tour on Studio 23 is off the air

DTourLast night, tech TV show Digital Tour on Studio 23 aired its last episode according to Rain. ABS CBN’s dedicated forums for the show did not contain any updates as to why the show was junked not does their official section page on the network’s website.

Anybody still watching Digital Tour?

I remember about 2 or 3 years ago, one of my favorite local shows to watch was Digital Tour on Studio 23. They’re practically the only other TV show that’s pretty heavy on the tech side. There’s also Convergence on Net 25 and this Wikipedia entry says they’re consistently No. 1 on that category. (I wish they’d do reruns of TechTV.)

Anyway, both of these shows aren’t really showing anything new these days. Bunch of really old stuff and more old news. It’s like a three-month old delayed telecast or something.

Well, I guess, their average viewer isn’t as updated but to me, the show has become too boring nowadays. Hope they could do at least a segment or two that aren’t oh so too cheesy.

Wait, now I remember. They did a feature of PinoyTechBlog September last year. :D

The Week-ender Update

Been a very busy all week-end so I forgot to post some pretty long blog here and at PTB. Anyway, will just summarize some of the more notable ones that transpired over the week-end:

  • Three (yes, that’s 3!) more group focus blogs will be launched within the month. One is already done but needs initial content while the two others will come along within the week. I will post an invite again so watch out. =)

  • Jove Francisco and Ricky Carandang (a few of our notable mediamen bloggers) are now WordPress users as I switched their Blogspot account to a full WP weblog.

  • Rain sent me an SMS a few minutes before 11PM telling me Pinoy.Tech.Blog was featured in Digital Tour of Studio 23.

  • Developers of evoTopSites told me that the Pro version will be delayed until October 1. I’m a little uneasy not to be able to run the Top Blogs at full speed until then. For now, a couple of 5 to 10 minute runs during off peaks will suffice. *hint* *hint*

  • Did 2 short entries in PTB — In search of an online password vault. and How will Google Talk beat Skype?. Hop on and maybe you can share some insight as well.
