TechCrunch raking Php10 Million a month

Relevance: 99%      Posted on: October 23, 2007

The TechCrunch blog was launched in June of 2005 and in just 2 years, they're the world's #4 blog (Technorati Popular) and maybe the 2nd most influential (after Engadget). But the news the other day was how much TC was raking in per month -- $240,000 or just over Php10,000,000. Sweet. Now that's a lot of trailing zeros. With just 8 full-time employees, including a recently-hired CEO, that number breaks down to $30,000 per month per employee. The San Francisco Chronicle screamed the obvious -- "Yes, some blogs are profitable - very profitable." That amount comes from the 125x125 pixel…

That's more than Php800,000 at the current peso exchange rate. And he got all that just for the month of May. This got everybody talking about him even before he got Slashdotted a couple of days ago. Even if you only get 10% of that a month around here, it's still big bucks. And all I get is a measly hundred bucks each month. Mr. ProBlogger has already even bought a house from his previous earnings. Darren's…

Relevance: 93%      Posted on: May 20, 2010

Just noticed this recently and almost forgot about it until I got an invitation from Nokia to attend their event in SG next month. The Nokia E73 Mode might just be one of the new handsets to be revealed there. This one's spotted by Engadget but it's for T-Mobile USA and will be out on the 16th of June. Incidentally, the Nokia Connection 2010 event will be held on June 15 in Singapore so that's an uncanny timing there (timezones make up for the 24-hour difference). Can't imagine what else could Nokia add more to the E7x series that they've…
