LG UX10, yet another tablet

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: June 1, 2010

Looks like 2010 is fast becoming the year of the tablet PC. LG also showed their tablet prototype at Computex called the LG UX10. It's another Windows 7 powered tablet/slate PC with a (somewhat) netbook configuration -- a 10.1" LED display, Intel Atom Z530 1.66GHz, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, 1GB RAM, SD card slot, 1.3MP webcam and micro-HDMI port. It's also got a high-capacity battery (7200mAh) to boot {via}. This reminds me of that digital photo-frame LG Electronics gave us during our last visit to Korea. It was the one I used in my April Fool's joke (YugaTech Android Tablet). I…

Relevance: 94%      Posted on: May 27, 2013

Though not yet officially launched in the Philippines, the Xperia Tablet Z has showed up in Villman's website and priced at a higher price than what we expected. This is probably due to the fact that these units are parallel imports (not thru local channels) and thus cost more to import. Sony Xperia Tablet Z specs: 10.1-inch full HD display @ 1920×1200 pixels Mobile Bravia Engine 2 Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 APQ8064+MDM9215M 1.5GHz quad-core processor Adreno 320 graphics 2GB RAM 16GB/32GB internal storage NFC HSPA+/LTE 100Mbps WiFi 802.11 b/g/n Bluetooth 4.0 up to 32GB via microSD card 8.1-megapixel Exmor R camera…

Lenovo's very own Android Honeycomb tablet, the IdeaPad K1, just hit the local stores this week-end and selling for Php24,995. iPed Tablet in the flesh, first impressions

Relevance: 92%      Posted on: August 31, 2010

With the help of our tipster, we went to VirraMall to look for the iPed yesterday. The store wasn't very easy to locate so we had to wander around for a bit before we got there. The box of the iPed Android tablet itself was a poor replica of Apple's iPad with a little Android logo on the sides. Inside the box is the tablet, a regular charger and a USB cable. The unit did not have a stylus with it but I am told other stores offer them with one. It looks like a smaller iPad, even the finish,…

Toshiba's first Thrive tablet may not be the sexiest one in the market but this upcoming one named the Excite X10 sure gets the "thinnest" title so far. To go on display at the floors of CES 2012, the Toshiba Excite X10 measures just 7.7mm thin (even thinner than the Galaxy S2 and the Galaxy Note). Toshiba Excite X10 specs: 10.1" IPS display @ 1280x800 pixel TI OMAP 4430 1.2GHz dual-core CPU Gorilla Glass display 1GB RAM 16GB and 32GB internal storage 5MP rear camera 2MP front-facing camera Bluetooth 2.1 WiFi 802.11 b/g/n micro-USB port micro-HDMI port micro-SD card slot

MyPhone to launch MyTablet Android tablet?

Relevance: 88%      Posted on: March 17, 2011

Just had a talk with one of the industry people today and they mentioned that Solid Group, Inc. (SGI), the local MyPhone manufacturer, will be launching their own branded Android tablet in the Philippines. No details are available yet but I'm looking into verifying this story and getting more details and pricing about their tablet. My guess is that it will come from one of those OEMs in China. The tablet is said to be named MyTablet. SGI earned a reportedly Php2 billion in unit sales for the fiscal year 2010 -- that's a 9-fold sales increase from their performance…
