Talk N’ Text now offers Php6 per hour mobile internet

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: September 9, 2014

Talk N Text is now offering the most affordable mobile internet subscription by offering Php1 per 10 minutes mobile subscription. This effectively puts the hourly rate at just Php6.00. There's a catch though to this very cheap internet rate -- subscribers are blocked from using video streaming sites and P2P networks. Dubbed “PisoNet,” Smart’s new mobile Internet offer will be initially available to Talk ’N Text (TNT) subscribers and shall allow access to all apps and websites on mobile phones for only P1 per 10 minutes, with the exception of video streaming sites and file-sharing activities. PisoNet will soon be…

Talk N Text Panalo Phone at Php499

Relevance: 99%      Posted on: March 11, 2011

Probably the cheapest phone in the market so far -- Talk N Text's today launched a co-branded mobile handset they aptly called Panalo Phone. The handsets are simple candybar phones which were co-branded with Cherry Mobile and ZTE. The phones are also locked to the TNT network and it's highly likely the telco is subsidizing for the cost of the handset. The one in the photo is one of two cellphones in the Panalo Phone line-up (a Cherry Mobile B1). Single-SIM and very light, they only cost a mere Php499. I am told they won't be normally sold in stores…

Relevance: 73%      Posted on: December 14, 2008

Smart introduced the other day this mobile-in-a-USB product called Plug 'n Talk. It's basically targeted to OFWs which allows them to call and text from a PC abroad to any cellphone or landline number in the Philippines. The rates looks the same as your regular mobile rates in the country except that incoming calls and SMS are free which some might find attractive. Calling to a Smart mobile number costs Php7.50/min, Php8.50 to a landline and other networks. sending text messages to Smart costs Php1.00 and Php2.00 to other networks and landline. The gadget is a USB device included in…

AdSense Ad Units: Image or Text

Relevance: 67%      Posted on: November 12, 2005

Was just chatting with Connie a while back (she just launched a new Party Blog) when she asked for my opinion about ad types in AdSense. Which is better -- include images ads or just pure text ads? Though I used to include a combination of text/image ads in my AdSense settings before, I realized that looking at it from another perspective, pure text ads could harvest more clicks (and revenue returns) than a combination of both. I summarized the advantages below: Surfers are already immune to image ads. Thus, they are more likely to click on a text ad…

Google Talk updates

Relevance: 63%      Posted on: July 29, 2006

There has some new feature updates on Google Talk lately. First is File Transfer: To send a file with Google Talk: 1. From an active chat window, click the Send Files button. 2. Browse to the file or files you'd like to send (use CTRL-Shift to select more than one file at a time). 3. Click OK. Google Talk will insert your file into the chat session. IMO, they should have had this feature when they first launch the IM. Next is VoiceMail: Friends can now leave you a voicemail if you're away. Not good if one does not have…

Google Talk, the next best IM?

Relevance: 60%      Posted on: August 24, 2005

Rumors abound that Google is gunning for the Instant Messenger market, dubbed Google Talk. I won't be surprised if the rumors are true. Google's market share is so large that they can penetrate just about anything related (sometimes even remotely related) to the internet quite easily. The bigger question here is how IM users would welcome this new service? There are quite a lot of them already -- ICQ, AOL IM, Yahoo! Messenger and MSN. There are also 3rd-party clients (multi-protocol) which supports mulitple sessions of these IMs -- Jabber, Trillian, and Gaim are the more prominent ones. The very…
