Fake Nokia Touch Screen TV Phone

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: February 19, 2011

Saw this nice little TV phone tonight, brought home by my brother. At first I thought it was one of those LG Cookie models that has a built-in TV tuner with it but upon closer inspection, turns out it's got a Nokia logo instead. The handset is really small and comes with a full touch screen display. The antenna is considerably longer -- at least 3 times the height of the unit. The touch screen even has that iconic "Slide to Unlock" feature that's totally copied from the iPhone/iOS. At the back, it says the camera is rated at 12.1…

6th Gen iPod Nano goes full touch-screen

Relevance: 97%      Posted on: September 2, 2010

Apple also re-designed the iPod Nano 6G and added a touch screen on a squarish form factor (reminds me of the 3rd generation fatty nano) that lends a touch of inspiration from the Shuffle two generations ago. iPod Nano 6th-generation : 1.54-inch TFT display @ 240x240 pixel resolution Multi-touch screen Accelerometer FM Radio Pedometer The Nano can last up to 24 hours of music playback but it looks like it has lost the ability to play videos, a feature that was introduced 3 generations before this one. This is probably the most radical change in a product line Apple has…

PC Screen Size Trends in the Philippines

Relevance: 77%      Posted on: July 30, 2012

Saw this interesting chart during one of the product launches of Sony Philippines some time last month. It shows the trend of PC screen sizes preferred by customers based on their purchasing behavior. It shows that the 14-inch notebooks are the most popular (has been for the last 8 years) but that share is slowly thinning. The 15-inch and and the 12-inchers also used to be popular too but the chart shows they're slowing down. What's getting some traction is the 11-inch models where they used to be non-existent before 2009 but is already taking around 10% share from 2011.…

Full Touch Screen vs. Full Qwerty

Relevance: 77%      Posted on: September 7, 2010

If I asked this question 3 years ago, I'm sure I'd get a majority of responses in favor of the full qwerty on mobile phones. But since the iPhone and the Android smartphones came to the scene, using full touchscreen doesn't seem to as bad as before. In fact, full touchscreen has a few advantages over full qwerty phones in some areas: Full touchscreen phones enjoy bigger real estate screen since the virtual keyboard is included into the screen. Bigger screens are always better. Web browsing on touchscreen phones feels more interactive and engaging with navigational features like swipe, pinch…
