Is your blog .mobi ready?

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: June 24, 2007

I had a long discussion with someone from one of the big telcos on the possibility of adding blogs to their mobile portal. They wanted to check out more local blogs to add to their listing. The only initial requirement is that the blog should be mobile ready (either WAP capable or .mobi ready). At first, I thought it was just for the blogs I own or help run but I broached the idea that we should widen the coverage and include others I know well that have a good following, consistently updated with a specific niche. So the search…

Leaked Web App: Jollibee Mobile Delivery

Relevance: 25%      Posted on: August 6, 2010

At first I thought this photo and video sent to me was for an upcoming iPhone App and Android App for Jollibee Online Delivery but close inspection revealed it's something simpler. The leaked video shows the alpha version of JollibeeDelivery mobile website (I reckon it's going to be a dot.mobi site) The mobile site allows for online ordering system that supports most mobile devices (I remember they had a Jollibee WAP delivery a couple of years back). The photo below shows the site browsed on an iPod Touch and Google Nexus One running Froyo. I am told that "These .mobi sites…

AdMob: Tracking WAP/Mobile Visitors

Relevance: 20%      Posted on: September 17, 2007

After adding that WP Mobile plugin on my blog several months ago, I was curious if there were really visitors coming in to my blog using their mobile device. If my referral logs gave any indication, it's possible that those coming from wap.google.com are searching the net using their mobile device and landed on my blog. The problem though is that I can't really figure out how many visitors are coming in and viewing the mobile version, much more importantly that it's now also listed on the myGlobe Portal. I remember that the WP Mobile plugin had an option where…

Germany’s .de is Most Popular ccTLD

Relevance: 19%      Posted on: April 20, 2008

It's no contest that .com domains are the most popular ones today -- over 71 million of them registered as of February 2008. We might also think that the .net domains will come in second. Well, according to EuropeRegistry, it looks like Germany's country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) has surpassed the dotNet TLD to get the second place globally. The following list represents current statistics for several of the worlds most popular domains: .com - 71,619,962 Global Generic .de - 11,673,388 Germany .net - 10,623,637 Global Generic .cn - 9,001,993 China .uk - 6,486,829 United Kingdom .org - 6,373,837…

AdMob launches Mobile Analytics

Relevance: 18%      Posted on: May 1, 2008

Mobile advertising network launches in beta a new analytics software to track and monitor traffic to your mobile web sites or blogs. The service, AdMob Analytics, is currently in private beta but you can sign-up here to get invites once they open it up to the public. It will also be free, of course. If you're running AdMob on your blog or has installed that Mobile WordPress plugin, you could at least get an idea of how much traffic you're getting from mobile devices or mobile-specific search engines (e.g. wap.google.com). The Mobile Analytics might be able to give you more…

Featured on myGlobe Portal

Relevance: 17%      Posted on: September 12, 2007

Some of you Globe subscribers might have noticed this for several weeks now but I'd like to make a formal announcement here. YugaTech Mobile is now featured/listed on Globe's myGlobe Portal. The myGlobe Portal can be found at http://3g.myglobe.com.ph -- most Globe SIMs have links to this WAP portal. The portal also features the new branded Yahoo! oneSearch by Globe. The blog is listed under Mobile Websites -> Tech & Blogs. This Content Partnership Agreement was actually signed way back in July 2007 and was supposed to officially turn over by August 1. This includes several of my other blogs…
