To start things off, the One mini and the S4 mini were announced just recently. The S4 mini was announced first in June followed by the One mini a month later. Both smartphones have 4.3-inch displays with Gorilla Glass, Snapdragon 400 dual-core CPUs, LTE connectivity and skinned Android 4.2.2 Jellybean. Battle of the Minis: Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini vs HTC One Mini 2

Relevance: 94%      Posted on: July 1, 2014

Pitting a notable newcomer against a rival device is slowly becoming a tradition for us here at YugaTech. And with the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini, we think it’s only fair to give it the same treatment as the ones that came before it by comparing it against the fairly new HTC One Mini 2. Summary of advantages: Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini: * Thinner form-factor (9.1mm vs 10.6mm) * Lighter body (120g vs 137g) * Water and Dust proof * Slightly faster processor * 50% more RAM * Better Bluetooth chip HTC One Mini 2: * Aluminum build…

Compaq Mini 700: HP Mini 1000 redesigned

Relevance: 93%      Posted on: December 23, 2008

HP has released a strikingly similar netbook to the HP Mini 1000 in Europe -- the Compaq Mini 700. Specs are the same with subtle changes in design which includes a large Compaq logo. Maybe it's just branding for specific regions or they could be banking on Compaq as a more popular brand of sorts. Don't know why would they split the model names for similar products {via Notebook Italia}. HP Mini 210 = Compaq Mini CQ10

Like most other multi-branded global companies, HP makes similar products for their Compaq line-up and prices them a bit cheaper. We've seen this done by Acer on their Gateway and eMachines brand. So it's no surprise that the upcoming HP Mini 210 has a fraternal twin in the name of Compaq Mini CQ10. So the Mini 210 took some design inspirations from the Mini 5101, specifically the chiclet-type keyboard. Ripple Mini PC takes one off Mac Mini

Relevance: 91%      Posted on: July 24, 2008

Same look, just different color and comes with an Intel Atom CPU -- the Ripple Mini PC is one of those new small form-factor desktop PCs wanting to grab a piece of the waning Mac Mini market. Still, they've shown you can make good use of an Intel Atom CPU beyond the UMPC niche. This is actually the second of a series from South Korea-based MyRipple, named Ripple Mini Chocolate. The price -- an estimated Php8,972 (209,000 South Korean won). Powered by a 1.6GHz Atom CPU, maxes out the RAM at 2GB {via}. There's a slot-loading optical drive too. Not…

The X-Mini Max II, X-Mini Happy arrives

Relevance: 91%      Posted on: August 23, 2010

There are two new portable speakers from X-Mini and they sent in both of them from Singapore so we could check it out. I've had the earlier models but the new ones add more features with much a nicer design. The X-Mini Happy follows the same form factor as the original X-Mini speakers but has more features built into the unit itself. The main one would be the MP3 player and the SD/SDHC card slot. Just copy your mp3 music to an SD card and pop it on the X-Mini and you're all set. The volume control also serves as…

HP outs Stream Mini PC

Relevance: 86%      Posted on: January 6, 2015

This Stream Mini PC from HP looks interesting as it reminded us of the ECS LIVA Mini PC we bought last year in Taiwan. The Stream Mini PC has a much more appealing design though. Powered by an Intel Celeron 2957U @ 1.4GHz and 2GB of RAM with 32GB SSD, the mini PC runs on Windows 8.1 with Bing. For connectivity, it has built-in WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GigaBit LAN, four USB 3.0 ports, SD card reader, DisplayPort 1.2 and an HDMI 1.4 port. For a price tag of $180, HP is also bundling a keyboard and mouse in the box.

HP Mini 2140 now with Intel Atom too

Relevance: 86%      Posted on: January 6, 2009

While we thought the HP Mini 1000 was the next netbook out of HP's doors, the new HP Mini 2140 isn't far behind -- replacing the previous Mini 2133 with Via CPU to an Intel Atom. Those who bought the Mini 2133 earlier will not be happy to learn that the new Mini 2140 will sport the same keyboard goodness (92% full keyboard size), a 10.1-inch display screen size (1366x768 and 1024x567 resolutions), and powered by an Intel Atom processor. Options for an 80GB or 160GB HDD and 1GB to 2GB RAM as well as a number of OSes --…

Nokia N97 Mini coming out this September?

Relevance: 85%      Posted on: August 5, 2009

There been a number of evidence pointing to a smaller Nokia N97 Mini that is rumored to be formally announced this September during the annual Nokia World 2009. The Nokia N97 Mini will have a smaller 2.9" screen at 640x360 pixels. See photo below for comparison {via}: Storage will also be bumped down to options for 8GB and 16GB. And of course, they will also be cheaper. The Mini N97 looks legit since Nokia has been doing the same positioning with the E63 for the E71 and the 5530XM to the 5800XM. This might indicate that the N97 was a…
