Android Wear 2.0 to finally launch in February

We’ve already heard about Google releasing the Android Wear 2.0 as far back as May last year and after postponing its supposed introduction last September, we’ll finally see it get revealed early next month.

Google has begun sending out emails to developers saying that the update will be available in a few weeks and that they should prepare their apps for its arrival. As mentioned previously, one of the main features of the new OS is the ability to be independent and not rely on a smartphone to function in addition to a revised Material Design complete with expanded notifications.

It’s also been confirmed by Google that there will be two new watches that will make their debut when the new software comes out, so that’s another thing to look forward to.

The following is a list of smartwatches compatible with Android Wear 2.0:

  • Huawei Watch
  • Huawei Watch for ladies
  • Moto 360 (2015)
  • Moto 360 Sport
  • LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE
  • LG Watch Urbane
  • LG G Watch R
  • Polar M600
  • Casio Smart Outdoor Watch
  • Nixon Mission
  • Tag Heuer Connected
  • Asus ZenWatch 2
  • Asus ZenWatch 3
  • Fossil Q Wander
  • Fossil Q Marshal
  • Fossil Q Founder
  • Michael Kors Access Bradshaw Smartwatch
  • Michael Kors Access Dylan Smartwatch

Is your wearable on the above list? Do check back as we wait for further details and announcements on the upcoming update.
