Samsung newest line-up in their Series 8 LED TVs is this F8000 -- a thinner and more bedroom-friendly model than the 85-inch UHD TV they announced this week. The Series 8 F8000 features a very thin bezel that gives an impression the entire display is floating freely (that bezel is as thin as the side of the iPhone 5). The F8000 comes in 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch variants but unlike the UHD TV that has a 4k resolution, these unit are just regular full HD 1080p resolution. Here's a quick clip we shot of how the TV looks from a 180-degree view: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYAYyJYlPVY The F8000 now also comes with the latest version of Smart TV Hub 2.0 -- additional hand gesture commands, over 300 voice commands, S-Recommendations, scheduled TV recording and more. Samsung will release these models in the Philippines some time in May although we're not sure about the pricing (probably the same level as the 2012 Series 8 models). The much awaited Omnia i900 from Samsung (see specs here) was released in the Philippines yesterday. While everybody is getting frustrated with the supposed Globe iPhone 3G pricing, the Samsung Omnia will definitely be a formidable alternative to the former.
