Okay, I think I spoke too soon. Just got this press release from Globe that they renamed their 3G internet service to Globe Broadband Tattoo.
Globe Broadband Tattoo, formerly known as Globe Visibility, uses a USB stick that works as a modem (more like a re-brand of Globe Visibility). Globe has also upgraded their network so users can get speeds of up to 2 Mbps.
Globe redesigned Globe Broadband Tattoo with some funky designs featuring artworks in black, orange, or blue.
The Globe Broadband Tattoo Prepaid Kit comes with a free Php100 load that is equivalent to five hours of free internet usage. Users still pay only Php5 per fifteen minutes with multiple connections.
Once users have consumed their free load, reloading the Globe Broadband Tattoo Prepaid SIM can be loaded like a regular prepaid SIM, whether through Share-A-Load, Globe Load or prepaid call cards.
Users may also opt for a postpaid plan for Globe Broadband Tattoo; there is a range of plans for as low as Php799/month with 60 free mobile internet hours.
Aside from using Globe Broadband Tattoo as a mobile Internet modem, the SIM card inside the USB can also be used for calls and sending text messages at regular cellphone rates. The USB also comes with a built-in expansion slot where users can insert their own microSD card for additional file storage.
The new Globe Broadband Tattoo Prepaid Kit is sold for only Php1,895.

About my Globe Tattoo Broadband experience… Medyo happy na medyo hindi… Medyo okay yung connection ko (in a way). AVERAGE DL speeds kapag araw e 20kb/s. Sa gabi (mga 6-2am) e 35kb/s. Kapag naman 2am-6am e (SUPER FAST: 150kb/s) Grabe sa gabi talaga. Pero incomparable pa rin talaga compared sa University Internet namin(download speed at peak hours e umaabot sa 2.5mb/s -> about 2-3mins lang ang 800mb movie). Pero Since “download-type” user naman ako sa bahay, (less video streaming, more on watching downloaded videos) So walang problema ang panood ko sa globe. Problema ko nga lang e kapag araw kasi medyo hanggang web browsing lang ako. Isa pang problema ko naman e sa gaming. Yun talaga walang chance. Pinging “DNS servers (AKA mga “Towers/Internet Service Provider:)” gives me a latency ranging from 100ms->2500ms. Kaya ibig sabihin may delay sa gaming (1->2.5s) Dadagdag pa yan kasi dadaan pa yan sa “WEB” NETWORKS. Kaasar din kasi hindi ako makapag-garena. Siguro na rin dahil hindi “FULL” bar ang signal ko dito kaya ganoong may delay (kasi kung nakatutok talaga sa tower (most likely full bar), e yung data waves transferred and received e hindi na mababaluktot kung may nakaharang na mga puno, bahay etc. Although, nasa labas ng bahay yung Globe modem ko (using USB extension cable). Another thing na naobserve ko e kapag naka-usb extension cable ako (3m) e bumabagal yung connection speed ko (although tumataas yung signal). Is it entirely because of voltage shortening? Or… ako lang nakakaexperience nito? Baka may alam kayong paraan para maayos yung Latency (or delay) ng Gloab broadband? Help me na rin po. I also changed the Data packet size (RWIN) and (MTU) to a recommended level (based on internet setting) to help my connection. Pero konti lang effect, may delay pa rin. Pero generally, basta kahit papaano may internet, masaya pa rin ako… ^_^
(continued from my previous post): BTW, may WiMax connection na ba dito sa Philippines? Globe meron na? Kasi ang nasasagap ko lang connection so far e GPRS, HSDPA (most of my connection time), at 3G. PS: If you’re wondering about the relation between “Internet Connection” speed and “Download” speed, 1 byte = 8 bits. So… for a 512 kbps (kilobits per second) internet connection speed, downloads speed could reach up to 64 kb/s (kilobytes per second). Just a helpful thought ^_^
sta.rita guiguinto bulacan globe walang kwenta. Shet full bar pero 0kbps upload and download kabibili pa lang sayang 5pesos per 15min google palang umaabot na ng 10min. Well, just found out that signal strength varies from place to place. Binili ko lang yung Globe Tattoo dahil nagkataong malakas ang signal dito sa amin. I bought the SMART BRO kit in case mahina ang signal sa Globe.
Kaya bago kayo bumili ng USB modem, check nyo muna signal sa inyo kung alin ang mas malakas. Kung malakas SMART sa inyo, sa SMART BRO kayo Pag GLOBE, TATTOO naman.
for some reason the globe tattoo is going over 5mbs here in manila and 3.5 mbs here in bacolod

Globe connection sucks… im having a bad trip experiencing their connectivity. I registered “UNLISURF” but it’s all got wasted ‘coz of their unstable, intermittent connectivity. and for the record it happens most of the time i register unlisurf.
