Globe Broadband Tattoo at 2Mbps

Okay, I think I spoke too soon. Just got this press release from Globe that they renamed their 3G internet service to Globe Broadband Tattoo.

Globe Broadband Tattoo, formerly known as Globe Visibility, uses a USB stick that works as a modem (more like a re-brand of Globe Visibility). Globe has also upgraded their network so users can get speeds of up to 2 Mbps.

Globe redesigned Globe Broadband Tattoo with some funky designs featuring artworks in black, orange, or blue.

The Globe Broadband Tattoo Prepaid Kit comes with a free Php100 load that is equivalent to five hours of free internet usage. Users still pay only Php5 per fifteen minutes with multiple connections.

Once users have consumed their free load, reloading the Globe Broadband Tattoo Prepaid SIM can be loaded like a regular prepaid SIM, whether through Share-A-Load, Globe Load or prepaid call cards.

Users may also opt for a postpaid plan for Globe Broadband Tattoo; there is a range of plans for as low as Php799/month with 60 free mobile internet hours.

Aside from using Globe Broadband Tattoo as a mobile Internet modem, the SIM card inside the USB can also be used for calls and sending text messages at regular cellphone rates. The USB also comes with a built-in expansion slot where users can insert their own microSD card for additional file storage.

The new Globe Broadband Tattoo Prepaid Kit is sold for only Php1,895.

    ANO BA YAN!!!

Nasubukan ko na both Globe and Smart mobile internet..

I’ve tried both globe visibility and smart bro prepaid. Globe runs pretty well during the wee hours starting 1AM-6AM. But during the day, minsan mabilis, but mostly its crawling at a snail’s pace. Dial-up connection is even faster than globe.

With smartbro, depends on your location nga. But my main complain with it is that mahilig sa drop lines or disconnection. I’ll be surfing for about a minute then suddenly i’ll get disconnected, then I log back again, surf for about a minute or two, then ma disconnect again. So in that 3 mins, they’ve already charged me an hour’s worth of surfing. Mabilis maubos ang prepaid load ko dito.

I am about to buy the Globe Broadband Tattoo but with these feedbacks, I am think a couple of times..

    I agree with you allen..haha

  6. Marjerizz says:

  8. Leo says:

For me mas maganda ang GLOBE, kasi kahit sa signal mas malakas…Pero totoo yung sinasabi nila na depende ang sa location, but for me Globe is faster than SMARTBRO…

    1. Alabang Area Globe – 390kbps to 890kbps, Smartbro – 189kbps to 400kbps
    2. Sta. Rosa & Calamba Laguna – Globe – 300kbps to 700kbps, Smart a- 210kbps to 410zkbps
    3. Taytay & Antipolo Rizal Area Globe – 170Kbps to 380Kbps, Smart 90Kbps to 200Kbps
    4. Tanauan Batangas area Globe 320kbps to 560kbps, Smart – 190kbps to 300kbps
    5. Manila area Globe – 500kbps to 900kbps, Smart 400 to 700kbps
    6. makati Area Globe 600Kbps to 1.1Mbps, Smart 400kbps to 800kbps
    7.Cavite area(Home) Globe 300kbps to 600kbps, Smart 180kbps to 300kbps.

    Rank of the Mobile internet

    1. Globe Visi

  9. watzabatza says:

i like the style… but i use smartbro broandband.. i have a doubt with that (stick) USB. If there’s a virus, maybe the USB will be ruined?

  10. RiaLyz says:

    ..hello..
..plan din namin kasi mag-avail, sun or globe..

  11. misterveggy says:

Regardless if it’s Smart or Globe, if you’re used to fast connections, prepare to be disappointed. Both providers’ services are still in the early stages of technological savyness. You will have inconsistent connections and when you do have connection it is snail pace. Worst the upload part of the connection is comparable to dial speeds if not non existent.

Bottom line is if you can handle frustration pretty well, then get either of the “wireless” services. If not, then stick to the traditional services or just hang out at real wireless hot spots.

  12. Leo says:

    Hi RiaLyz!

Mag Globe ka na lng kasi… Sa Paranaque they have a cell site of globe at malapit ka sa Pasay Las Pinas Makati na may kanikaniyang cellsite.. so meaning mas ok yung speed ng Globe…

  13. mAu says:

i’m also planning to get/buy 1, but i’m confused which one to buy… smart bro or globe tattoo?
here in our place smart bro is popular… but since there’s a globe cellsite near our house, napaisip tuloy ako…. grrrr kainis!

  14. im using smartbro plan 999..mabilis din naman eh lalo na pag safari browser ang gamitin mo..and its depend on the capabilities of your computer alone…kung mahilig ka sa download lalo na sa mga 700mb pataaz i would suggest pplan 999 its unlimited…kung nakalaptop ka naman u can use globe tatto kz nababagay lang ung laptop pag ginamit ng matagal umiinit yan..same with the globe tatto pag ginamit ng matagal the more load u can consumed..pag desktop ka?/mag unlimited internet ka na lang…but its ur decision guys…gudlak

  15. [...] recently changed their Globe Visibility to Globe Broadband Tattoo and tries to break away from the mold. With its new skin that makes you feel cool and trendy, you won’t [...]

  16. Ryan says:

Bought the prepaid kit last night at Trinoma. Tried using it last night.
    Speed: 3.6mbps!!!
Signal strength: 3 to 5 bars!
But no! download and upload speeds range from zero to 10kbps! kamusta naman! Location is Marikina. We are very near its cellsite.
Early this morning, I called their customer care hotline twice via landline and twice thru my cellphone but all those were disconnected! Do agents do that deliberately?

  17. gracey says:

Globe sucks! super not happoy with the wireless.. nag sky broadband nga ako.. super bilis naman.. sana they come up with a wireless… goodluch sa bibili ng tattoo…

  18. [...] is a bit late but if you’re planning on getting a Globe Broadband Tattoo, don’t get your hopes up that it will give you the 2 Mbps max speed (or even half of it) as [...]

  19. Jamez says:

Sometimes there are misconceptions sa speed na sinasabi ng Globe sa totoong speed na naeexperience.

Yung up to 2mbps is yung speed ng connection ng usbmodem-to-laptop/pc.

if you would connect it sa usb port makikita mo “connected” then if you’d check it out nakalagay “Speed – 2mbps” pero that just means na ung palitan ng Data Packet from USB to PC/Laptop is 2mbps.

But if you would try using online internet speed checkers like speedtest.net for example, it would give you a ROUGH ESTIMATE of your INTERNET SPEED.

Quick Analogy would be a CANAL and Water Flow.

You may have had a Big and Wide Canal (modem connection) with the size of 2mbps, but the water flowing in it (internet connection) might just be as little as 56kbps.

So kahit naka display pa sa desktop mo na ang speed mo is 2mbps, kung ang sinasabi ng internet speed checker is 56kbps lang, then that just means na 56kbps lang ang internet connection mo na dumadaloy sa 2mbps Canal ng usb modem na gamit mo.

Yan madalas ang parang pang Deceive ng mga marketers ng products like these para masabi lang na mabilis ang internet, but sa totoo connection lang un ng usb-to-laptop/pc but not the connection from internet-to-usb

i just like its funky tatoo design.. yun lng yun smart nmn kc napakaplain..hehe..pero mas malawak ang coverage ng smart yun nga lng pang DATA lang ang smart di tulad ng globe tatoo pwede call and text

  24. jan0ng says:

    Hi Leo,
