Globe Broadband Tattoo at 2Mbps

Okay, I think I spoke too soon. Just got this press release from Globe that they renamed their 3G internet service to Globe Broadband Tattoo.

Globe Broadband Tattoo, formerly known as Globe Visibility, uses a USB stick that works as a modem (more like a re-brand of Globe Visibility). Globe has also upgraded their network so users can get speeds of up to 2 Mbps.

Globe redesigned Globe Broadband Tattoo with some funky designs featuring artworks in black, orange, or blue.

The Globe Broadband Tattoo Prepaid Kit comes with a free Php100 load that is equivalent to five hours of free internet usage. Users still pay only Php5 per fifteen minutes with multiple connections.

Once users have consumed their free load, reloading the Globe Broadband Tattoo Prepaid SIM can be loaded like a regular prepaid SIM, whether through Share-A-Load, Globe Load or prepaid call cards.

Users may also opt for a postpaid plan for Globe Broadband Tattoo; there is a range of plans for as low as Php799/month with 60 free mobile internet hours.

Aside from using Globe Broadband Tattoo as a mobile Internet modem, the SIM card inside the USB can also be used for calls and sending text messages at regular cellphone rates. The USB also comes with a built-in expansion slot where users can insert their own microSD card for additional file storage.

The new Globe Broadband Tattoo Prepaid Kit is sold for only Php1,895.

I myself am pleased to know that Globe has a postpaid version of Tattoo. Although I’m connected to SmartBro right now, I feel like getting a Globe Tattoo for myself…because I can’t use a Smart SIM at home because it’s practically a SMART dead spot. I need to go near the windows literally to get just one bar.

  4. kenshinflyer says:

@Don’t Be Fooled: I dunno, but Globe is more reliable in our place. Like some guys here say, performance depends on location, because these plug-in modems work like mobile phones: it doesn’t work well if it has no signal, and won’t work if there’s no signal! Dito kasi sa amin, mahirap ang SMART signal.

  5. mach says:

who,s that hot skinhead guy wearing shades who appeared last in the Globe broadband commercial?? i think he’s really hot! LOL!

  6. Tonskie says:

It depends on the area talaga.

    Swerte2x lang..
Mahina ang globe dito, madalas smart, pero nang magpakonek ung kapit-bahay namin ng globe dsl, malakas naman daw, same way it worked on tattoo, mejo wala pang tattoo kit na nagagamit dito samin, ang alam ko, isa ko pang kilala ko, ung talagang taga dito din samin, mabilis naman daw, walang problema and by the way, nasa mindanao ako, not in davao city, pero kalapit lang, malakas ang signal ng globe dito, walang congestion, kasi nga kaunti lang ung gumagamit ng globe.

wala n bang ibang wireless kittttttttttttt

    Hi Janong.

Sana Makatulong me sa yo Janong!

  11. Leo says:

    Hi Janong,
By the way taga Imus me boundry ng bacoor… kaya tested ko na yan…

  12. blue angel says:

hoo true na pang laptop lang po ang globe tattoo? it will not work daw po sa desktop pc. as per customer service agent ng globe. kung gumana man daw po e mabagal? any feedback? thanks.

  13. Matthew says:

Does any one know how to plug this tatoo on the eee pc?

I really don’t understand why neither Globe nor Smart want to help me in connecting their devices on linux.

They simply say that in theory it works but they don’t know how and I have to hire my own developer.

The problem on the eee pc is that it automatically recognises the device as a mass storage. NOt as a modem.

Does any one know how or where I can get the right verion of the software to make the tatoo run on the Asus please?

    Thank you.

    Matthew

  17. tagahanga says:

Balak ko bumile ng globe tattoo..but the question is… mabiles kaya sha pag ginamet namen sa Balanga, bataan? Do any of you guys know if the signal for Globe there is strong?

I hope somebody can reply back right away bec I am planning to leave for Balanga soon…

    Thaaaaanks!

  18. Rocker Boi says:

Im also from balanga, bataan ok nman ang signal ng globe.. Kase i used my mobile on internet and i also used it in my pc as cp as a modem, 3g signal is full bar. But Smart 3g signal here is almost dead. Thats why walang nagaavail ng Smart bro postpaid here in our area. Kaya wala kang makikitang mga canopy antenna sa lugar namin kahit isa. hehe lol by the way were near in roman super highway.

  19. manny m says:

I’ve tried Smartbro prepaid kit… and very disappointed… i’ve used it in Makati and Antipolo.. crappy talaga.. and to make it worse is its customer service.. filed 2 complains already but still no resolution…

Now i’m reading this Globe Tattoo… more people say its crap… but i guess i have to try it.. ill buy it tonight, hope it doesnt crap out as they said.. i hope my area (makati or antipolo) gets better signal (high upload and dowload rate)… and i hope its always HSDPA…

will post again for the result…

  25. yeng says:

    basta web browsing,.
    movies,music downloads, two thumbs up..

    lakas ng signal..

pero kung balak mo gamitin sa MMORPG games..
mas kampante ka kung mag DSL ka na lng..
dont waste your money kung ONLINE GAMING ang forte mo..=)
