The latest HSDPA 3G modem from Smart Bro and Globe Visibility were manufactured by ZTE in China. Both are practically plug-and-play devices. The problem is running both softwares (3G dialers) on the same PC.
Since the device are practically similar, the system sees the two as a single device thus overwriting each others system settings. The Smart Bro model is MF622 and the Globe Visibility is MF626, making the latter the much newer model.
Incidentally, the newer device drivers from ZTE would not work with the older model used by Smart Bro. In fact, Globe Visibility takes over the Smart Bro installation folder in the Program Files.
In order for the Smart Bro HSDPA modem to work, one has to un-install the Globe Visibility software/drivers first. So, if you are using both, it’s a headache to switch from one service to another.
Was wondering if anyone out there has encountered this and was able to isolate the cause of the problem.
