Looks like the stories are true. I just checked my PLDT DSL speed at home last night and I was averaging around 480Kbps. That means my previous 386Kbps connection now tops at 512Kbps. Here’s the supposed upgrade that was recently made by PLDT.
512Kbps / 256Kbps for plan 1995
768Kbps / 384Kbps for plan 2500
1mbps / 384Kbps for plan 3000
You can call them up at 171 to confirm this. Sweet deal, huh? 
wag na kayong magpakabit ng pldt dsl kung ayaw nyo ng sakit ng ulo. i upgraded to 3Mbps plan (that’s 3k/month) but we barely reach 1.5Mbps. Nung first month lagi kaming walang connection pero cningil kami ng BUO, walang rebates!! cnungaling at bobo pa mga technician nila. Sabi samin nasa IPDSLAM (fastest server) na raw kami pero nung nagtanung kami sa ofis ng pldt, aba imposible nmn pala mangyari yun! So nasa Legacy p rin kmi (yung pinakalumang server). At ito pa, dahil dw nasa Legacy kmi ay 2.2 Mbps lng ang max na mkukuha nmin!!! Eh kung ganun eh bkit p kmi pinayagang magupgrade to 3Mbps kung di nmn pala kaya ng server namin?!?!?! Grabe gusto lang talaga nila kumita and they dont care abt their customers!

other than that you get a choppy-snail speed connection or just plain dead!!!

Been using PLDT DSL for6 years now.. D2 kasi samin walang choice kung hindi pldt…. nung una maganda nung mga year 2005.. ngayn parang tae na… d maka pag dota or kahit anong games,.. sobrang bagal.. download lang maganda…. wala choice d2 sa area namin eh.. amp
hay nako! ako nga meron ako internet biz gusto ko na pumatay ng tao dahil sa lintik na pldt na yan! binabayaran ko a month is 5,200.00 tapos di ko nakukuha yung sabi nila na service nila. everyweek tumatawag ako sa 171! after 1 hour babalik sa 3.5mbps ilang araw lang potek nasa 170 kbps lang. sino naman di mauurat non diba?! PLDT SUCKS! leche! nasisira negosyo ko sa inyo!
PEOPLE! according to my experiences from Smartbro Broadband and PLDT My DSL my first internet connection was broadband i’m using it for 2 years i learn about bandwidth and other stuffs broadband for 999 mothly is only and maximum limited of bandwidth speed is 30/40+ kpbs i tested by downloading stuff on same website and file i usualy get the same speed a few months of using i noticed my connection was now below 10+ kpbs i report my situation on smartbro they give me instruction and so i did but it seems it didn’t work it didn’t solve my problem until i know a virus a Trojan lorking on my computer they usualy staying in drive (C:) at window/system after removing this virus now my speed was back to normal..and there you go theres lots of reason why your internet can be slower but i suggest scan your computer with AVAST for trojans that slows your internet speed before complaining about your internet and now today i’m using Globe wireless broadband its faster than Smart Broadband…so remember scan your computer avoid Trojan viruses even you have Deep Freeze on Drive C: the virus may arround on your other driver and when you turn off your Deep Freeze automaticaly they slip through Drive C: unoticed…Goodluck

I was laughing all throughout reading the comments about PLDT DSL! haha! It’s all true! We used to have that nightmare for 2 years! Then we switched to Destiny Cable Internet, which used to have great speed last 2008.
But this year, OMG! The internet connection is unstable and goes dead most of the day. The only good thing I can say is that they have nice customer service. But, money is money, so I don’t want to stay subscribed if they continue this awful connection for the entire 2009. Maybe, we’ll try the Belltel Cable. *cross fingers*
All Plan’s S U C K S!!!…S H I T to all this shithead’s. They are ALL BIG LIER’s. Wish they all die SOON.

Wow naman, pldt really sucks! We use PLDT Mydsl for almost 2 years pero talagang mabagal. Walang pagbabago kahit mag upgrade ka pa. Palibhasa pera lng ang mahalaga sa kanila. Mayroon kaming internet cafe d2 sa bacolod na may 21 pc’s connected sa modem. Sa simula kung kunting pc’s lng ang naka konek sa internet medyo maganda pa, pero kung morethan 5 na doon na nagsisimula kalbaryo namin, talagang wala na kming internet. Hay buhay. ayos ba ang globe connection?
Poooooooor talaga ang service ng pldt sa 2.2Mbs na dapat na matanggap namin 384kbps lang ang narereceive namin,tama ba ‘yon????
Attention PLDT…sana naman bago kayo tumanggap ng tumanggap ng mga bagong subscriber ayusin nyo muna ang ibang mga problema n’yo…hindi nyo na nga maaccomodate lahat…magaling lang kayo pag magfofollow-up ng payment…nagtanung ba kayo kung ok ang serbisyo n’yo???????gawin nyo naman ang serbisyo nyo ng tama dahil nagbabayad kami ng tama….

ewan ko bakit ang dami reklamo sa DSL ng PLDT kesyo mabagal (ay oo, mabagal nga…pero para sa akin bumabagal lang pag marami akong tabs na nakabukas at sabay sabay nagtatransfer ng information at kung ano-ano pa). pero in all honesty, medyo sablay nga sila sa technical service. pero eto, may bago sila, iyong QIK. di ba last year meron na yan? nakita ko sa advertisement eh. and tulad ng sinabi sa ibang blog posts, may website pa on how to install and all that. http://myworldmydsl.com/qik/home.aspx
Ilang linggo PLDT MyDSL sa akin.. lumipat na ako sa GLOBE.. mas ok ang connection at hindi mukhang pera.. imagine mo na lang.. gagamitin mo muna internet before you pay unlike sa pldt MyDSLSUCKS bayad muna bago gamit
Isa pa ang lineman na nagreport sa connection namin.. nireport ba namang internet cafe? na wala namang pc dun sa pwesto.. iisa lang.. at bakit nya kinabit kung di naman pala pwede.. totally damn and PLDT… 2,700 a month for 2mbps plus landline tapos 1 week lang nawala na ung connection.. ayun pina refund ko na at lumipat na ako ng GLOBE. Sa GLOBE 2mbps 1900 lang.. lalo akong nagalit ng sabihin ng PLDT MyDSL na ipa-upgrade ko daw into business line worth 5,500 a month!!! MARIA SANTISIMANG PLDT YAN.. MUKHANG PERA

I dont think its only PLDT sucks. I just subscribe PLDT for almost one month. 1mbps pero bumabagal tapos bumibilis..hindi stable. Then parating lag sa online games. I also tried using Globe for 1 year. Grabe ! Sandamakmak na offline. sa isang taon, 50% sira ang internet. I think Broadband companies are abusive. dapat i report yan sa NTC or sa senado.
if you want to get older soon apply at the pldt internet connection broadband near you they are authorized of giving headache, lognot if symtoms attack call your 172 and 171 an relay to pldt weaknical service provider of all time.
