Smart offers iPhone 4S free on Unlimited Data Plan 1500

Listen to article

So, while everyone is still patiently waiting for the official release of the iPhone 5 in the Philippines, Smart is already trying to adjust prices and plans for their iPhone 4S. Just this week, they’ve adjusted the Data Plan where the iPhone 4S will be given for free.

The iPhone 4S used to be offered free under Unlimited Data Plan 2000. It is now down to Plan 1500 or a Php1,500 monthly cash-out.

If that is the case, when the iPhone 5 is finally offered by Smart this December, we could be looking at a 16GB model being offered free under Unlimited Data Plan 2000. Not bad, right?

Of course, subscribers will be hard pressed to decide whether they should just bite the Plan 1500 with an iPhone 4S or wait it out a little bit longer for the iPhone 5.

Hmm anyone know what the “throttled down” speed of smart postpaid? I know that smart has a data cap of 1.5gig per month for postpaid plans, but is it any different with prepaid?

Currently using smart’s unli data for P 1200 for 30 days, which is cheaper than the 1500 per month postpaid plan, but I’m curious on the services provided between the 2 =/

Experiencing an average of 100KBps download speeds (probably the throttled speed on prepaid) but I do get 700-800 KBps downloads sometimes, been interested in getting a postpaid plan but I’m afraid it might actually be worse than the speeds I’m getting right now XD

So, it’s really December? :)) I also heard that Globe will launch the iPhone 5 next month.

If Smart’s P1500 Iphone 4s plan is only unlimited data alone, I would still prefer getting an Iphone 4s plan from Globe. Globe’s P1799 gives you unli data plus 800 consumable for calls and text. And Globe’s data connection is the most reliable here in Davao.
