Smart prepaid subscribers can now experience blazing fast internet connection as the MVP-owned Telco launched the Smart Prepaid LTE.
The service will be offered in three denominations which is basically identical to Smart’s postpaid offering. Below are the packages along with its corresponding subscription text codes:
To take adavantage of this service, users need to purchase an LTE-provisioned SIM card which costs Php350. The SIM comes with free 7-days unlimited LTE that you need to register upon activation.
It comes in dual-cut (regular and micro-SIM) and nano-SIM variant and can be bundled with either a Huawei LTE dongle (additional Php5,995) or an LTE pocket WiFi (additional Php6,995).
Smart will start selling these LTE enabled devices this coming Sunday. For more informatiom about the service you can check out Smart’s official website.
@Josh:
Before I forget, sa mga Smart Postpaid subscribers (All-In Plans, Freedom Plan, iPhone Plan, etc.)
ANG BILLING PO NITO IS ON TOP OF THE BILL, KAHIT FULLY CONSUMABLE KA PA. This is what Smart has told me.
I’ve called Smart, kasi I’m planning to buy an LTE-capable Pocket WiFi.
This LTE promo is UNLIMITED po. Yes, unlimited po siya. Pero di ko lang alam sa prepaid. Sa postpaid hotline kasi ako tumawag, e. Kasi Naka-line ako, e. Haha

There is no cap as of the moment as SMART has yet to study the usage of consumers.
According to news, after June 30, they will announce the new prices.
And nope, this isn’t available for postpaid users as they currently offer LTE to them through unlidata packages, as long as the gadget is capable to receive the signal.
LTE DATA is for DATA only no calls and SMS…
The thing here though is common sense dictates na if you are out of the 250meter radius of the tower that provides the LTE signal, better stick with the regular plan on any phone kasi outside the coverage, you’ll have to be contented with what signal you get.
In areas covered though, this LTE connection is a BIG convenience like in our office, I can download a 700Mb file in just less than 10 mins.
Then again, LTE is not for everyone and kung magrereklamo sa price, better not be a subscriber at all.
Pag kumonti subscriber ng mga Telcos na yan, trust me, they will eventually lower those rates.
So whats the data cap? I bet its something laughable
So its 10k for the wifi hotspot, 350php for the sim
For that much money i sure hope its unlimited use and no cap…..
Its unlimited, dude! Great offer by Smart.

Hindi pa kase reliable ang 3G at Towers namin dati kaya para mag mukhang mura at affordable yung Broadband Internet ginawa naming Time based kahit na naka GPRS lang yung mga nasa probinsya.
Mas maganda nga naman if you’re paying for the bandwidth parang sa ibang bansa na:
30Gb = P3,500 good for one month
10Gb = P1,300 good for one month
Unlimited in a sense na kahit anong oras pwede niyong gamitin in one month hindi Unlimited Bandwidth.
How about the bandwidth cap?
is cavite already covered by lte?
Blazing fast? Talaga lang ah!??
Wonder if the sim will work on a Smart LTE-capable iPhone 5 or Sony Xperia V?
Opo, Sir. Naka-lock to of course.
According to Smart, the first batches will not voice call feature, but it’ll have SMS so you can register to their LTE offerings.
I use LTE 50 with my regular phone. Its okay. It is just like a normal unlimited surfing when using a 3g phone. But if you use an LTE ready device you can have the LTE connection. Check your area if already LTE ready and check when if you bought your broadband simcard after 2011.
Holy shit. I need an LTE phone already!
Please be careful on buying an LTE-capable phone.
Ang Smart LTE requires a device that has a frequency band of 1800 mHz and 2100 mHz (Multi-band ang Smart, unlike sa Globe. It runs only at 1800 mHz)

Wait, kung ang LTE ng Smart e nag-ooperate on 2100mHz, ibig sabihin this is not really LTE? Kase meron akong Huawei E5331 and according sa specs, hindi naman sya LTE, up to 3G/HSPA lang. But pwede sya mag-operate on 2100mHz.
I think ung bands ay ung nka licensed kay Smart to use. Parang mga station ng radio.

Ser, hindi yan naka base sa band. Your Huawei E5331 is only 3G HSPA+ device.
Smart CSR, thanks for clearing it up. :-)
If LTE is offerred in prepaid… does anyone know if its also offerred in freedom plan?
May download/data limit kaya? Masaya sana kung wala pero most likely meron :(
ofcourse meron, dami kasing piratang downloader sa bansa naten
Oo, dan, syempre isa ka na dun!
kakabasa ko lang sa website ng SMART. Nakalagay POSTPAID. Anu ba talaga?!
Meron na po for prepaid. April 21, 2013 na ang formal selling. They’ve changed yung sa website kasi nagkamali sila ng promotions. Pero ngayon, available na ang LTE for both post & pre
