So I finally got the much-needed DSL upgrade at home. We upped our broadband plan from the usual 2Mbps (a 2nd DSL as backup) to 10Mbps and made it our primary fixed-line connection.
We decided to make the move after burning thru the battery of the HTC One which I’ve used as an LTE hotspot for 3 months. It was a costly move and now I don’t waht to do the same thing to my LG G2.
So an upgrade to the home DSL is more convenient. Here’s the speed test we got from the 10Mbps line. Did it in the afternoon so we’re hoping it’s going to be faster in the evenings.
So far, we’re averaging 8.5Mbps which isn’t bad (we’re also getting around 900KB/s via P2P). It’s not as fast as the 20Mbps+ I’m getting via LTE but it’s enough. Read more about the upgrade and the freebies that came with it here.
They are meticulous on the stitching and material of the clothes that they purchase so
that it passes their standards. There were no
boldly patterned skirts and I tried on dresses instead.
Scarves and Sashes: Tight tied scarves around neck, kerchiefs and loosen neck
cloths were commonly in use.
Somebody necessarily lend a hand to make severely posts I’d state.
That is the very first time I frequented your website page and thus far?
I surprised with the analysis you made to create this
particular submit extraordinary. Wonderful task!
Ayos narin yung ganyang speed, gusto ko rin sanang gawing hotspot itong 4g lte phone ko kaso baka magaya sayo sir Abe.
Those speedtest points to globe servers? What about speed if servers outside their network are used? Like smart or sky broadband servers, do you get the same speeds?
sir abe try mo palitan ng globe postpaid line sim ng router mo. baka umabot pa yan ng 20mbps lte at unlimited pa. :)
Hi Abe – just curious to know how much did it cost to have the HTC One’s battery replaced (if you did at all)?
is this unlimited data or capped monthly?
Hi isohunta!
Sad to say, Fair Use Policy (FUP) for all users still applies. Though you may currently have the advertised speed, using it continuously (like leaving your P2P apps downloading 24/7) will eventually cause them to cut down your speed, to give way for other users.
Hope this answers your questions. :)
Just called globe and they told me that the high speed plans or Torque (Starting from 8Mb/s onwards) DOES NOT have data capping. Too bad it’s still subject for facility inspection. Planning to upgrade to this plan, and they require a confirmed upgrade before doing inspections.
Check your downstream speed from your router(go to 192.168.x.x), if it’s 8k-9k, you won’t be able to get 10 mbps ever. It must be 11k+ to get a 10mbps on your speed.
Just did, it says 10239kbps .
You need to request for a reconfiguration of your downstream speed, it should be around 11K. A Second Level Engineer of Globe can do that :)
