Manila Bulletin Online Revamp

The online version of Philippine newspaper Manila Bulletin has re-designed their website.

Manila Bulletin Online

Although the front page still sports the old site design, the inner pages and sections are already on the new layout. I think they’re preparing for Monday to make this final but the transistion wasn’t planned too well that the design leaked before they made formal announcements. Or, they completely forgot about the front-page altogether (which is so unlikely).

Anyhow, the new layout is a little better than the old one and less crowded. The ad fillers aren’t as annoying as the old ones too.

They could be waiting for midnight before doing the big switch. We’ll see.

Too bad it still is one big markup mess. Tables for presentation, without even optimizing their usage. Right this minute, the frontpage is showing lots of template tags. Hahaha.
