Yahoo’s Buzz Log recently published a list of the Top 20 Misspelled Searches:

11. Brittany Spears (Britney Spears)
12. Brittney Spears (ibid)
13. Anna Nichole Smith (Anna Nicole Smith)

The terms inside the parenthesis are the correct spelling. If you looked closely, 18 of the 20 listed are actually proper nouns. The two other words — tatoos and the biggest looser – begs the difference. Accordingly, the word looser isn’t a misspelling if you take it out of the context of the reality TV show of the same title. So that leaves us with tatoos as the most often misspelled word.
Come to think of it, Yahoo searchers aren’t really that bad spellers, aight?
