Devialet Phantom Sounder Center lands, rocket science for Php119,000

Yesterday, the folks over at AVDI invited few members of the media to show to us the Devialet Phantom speakers. Devialet is fairly new acoustic engineering company in France. They design and manufacture amplifiers, and only recently, high-end speakers like the Phantom. Devialet stresses that the entire design and engineering team as well as the production are all done in France.

Devialet secured over 88 patents just for the Phantom alone. The internal chamber is compressed, requires at least 1 ton of pressure to close and uses only 2 screws to put them in place. The body is made of aluminum cast with kevlar insulation.

As for the frequency range, the Phantom can go as low as 16Hz right up to 25KHz, a feat it managed to achieve by using a ADH technology (analog digital hybrid). This small speaker is heavy — 15kg and power output can go up to 3,000W.

The Phantom has built-in WiFi so you can connect your tablet, PC or smartphone when connected to the local network. Just have to download the Spark app in the store and you can stream your songs from your device to the Phantom. While it does not support Spotify on WiFi, there’s Deezer and Tidal available. On the other hand, you can also connect via Bluetooth so playback can be from any source (video, YouTube, Spotify).

In order to appreciate it, one has to really come close and listen to it:

There are two variants of the Phantom — the white variant has a power output of 750W sells for Php99,000 while the silver/aluminum variant has 3,000W output costs Php119,000. The Devialet Phantom is available at AVDI at the 4th floor of EDSA Shang Mall.
