HiSense HB440H Bluetooth Headset

First time I heard of HiSense was when the guys at Awesome.PH sent me a free (HiSense HB200M) unit to review last year. Since then, I’ve encountered a number of other headsets from them including this Bluetooth model, the HiSense HB440H.

The headset is simple and elegant, has a mostly plastic construction with a stainless steel backbone inside the headband.

That same strip of stainless steel can extend a couple more inches to comfortably fit on the head (really depends on the size of your head but I reckon typical sizes have been considered for this one).

The headset fits just right and comfortable although you can sometimes feel the pressure from that bent steel backbone (nothing really serious with long-term use).

It’s light and handy although not foldable so stowing it away can be a bit of an issue if you don’t have enough space in your bag. The foam pads are sufficient, soft and offers enough comfort on the ears.

Pairing the headset to your phone or music player is very easy and almost flawless. All you need to do is press down on the power button for at least 5 seconds until the power light rapidly blinks and you’re one step away to connect it to your device.

The controls are all found on the right ear-pad and allows you to remotely set the volume, music playback options and the power.

Audio quality on the HB440H is impressive with clear and crisp sound. Voice quality is superb — it’s very clear and audible when hooked up to the phone during a call. You also get decent bass when playing music over any media player.

The wireless connection is still very good at 1 to 2 meters and degrades the further away you go. You’d probably get something like 3 to 5 meters on line of sight and shorter when not.

My only biggest complaint is this — a slight peeling off of the foam pad (this was straight out of the box). A little glue should do the trick.
