Just when I thought I’ve all sorts of portable speakers, here comes the Mighty Dwarf and Nano Beat vibration speakers — these portable speakers have a power output of up to 10 watts.

These two portable speakers look like your ordinary X-Mini wannabes but once you hold one, you’d definitely not believe how heavy it is. Each speaker feels like as heavy as 2 or 3 iPhone 4S (must be the magnet inside).
The Nano Beat is the bigger one of the two which is rated at 10 watts. The cylindrical shape of the body extends once you twist open the top part to expose the diaphragm. The speaker grills are on top which jiggles when you crank the volume up.

The playback control is on the side which includes pause/play and the volume up/down toggle, the power button and a micro-SD card slot which you can store MP3s for stand-alone playback.
The mini-USB port is used for charging the internal battery and doubles as an audio port to a 3.5mm jack.
The bottom end has a smaller cylindrical stand with an adhesive surface. You can peel the cover and stick the speaker on a flat surface to make it stationary. It actually plays a huge role in the sound performance of the speaker.

At top volume, the Nano Beat has an almost ear-shattering power. It’s very loud but not distorted even when you crank it up to the maximum volume. The bass is impressive for such a small speaker. This is more evident when you attach the bottom to a hard surface like a wooden table because it uses the anchor as some sort of extension to the body of the speaker. If you don’t do that, the spaker becomes a bit tinny.

The Mighty Dwarf is the younger brother of the Nano Beat. It uses the same principle as the Nano Beat but is only rated at 5 watts. There’s no extended diaphragm either. It still has the microSD card slot so you cna play MP3 songs straight from the device.

It’s a bit smaller but weighs like a ton when you hold it. The same adhesive tape at the bottom so you can anchor it to a hard surface (it’s easily removable). I even tried to stick it to the headboard of the bed and was able to stay in place for some time (drops off after a while especially when you start playing songs).
Look, ma! No hands, I’m spiderman!
