Parrot outs MiniDrone and Jumping Sumo

Parrot, the company resposible for the AR.Drone, has introduced their latest additions to their family of wireless toys – the MiniDrone and the Jumping Sumo.

The Parrot MiniDrone is more like the smaller sibling of the AR.Drone. This small quadcopter is piloted using Bluetooth 4.0 for up to 160 feet. It doesn’t have a camera but features an accessory that equips the MiniDrone with two large wheels on its sides for protection and added mobility. Parrot claims that the drone can last 6 to 7 minutes on a single charge.

Next is the Jumping Sumo, a wheel-based drone that comes equipped with a spring-loaded mechanism that allows it to jump 3 feet into the air. It comes with a QVGA camera, 20 minutes battery life, and can be controlled using WiFi for a range of up to 160 feet. Watch Parrot’s video of the new drones below:

It’s obvious from the video that Parrot is encouraging you to use these drones indoors. I think it would be more awesome if they equip these with mini NERF guns.
