Razer showcases Edge aka Project Fiona

It was at last year’s CES when Razer revealed their plans of making a Windows-based gaming tablet. At this year’s convention, they unveiled their latest creation; the world’s first crowd-sourced gaming tablet which was only previously known as Project Fiona, but not now goes by the name of Edge.

Back in December, the CEO of the company has posted what their fans can expect from their upcoming slate in terms of its specs. There were some aspects of the tablet that was yet to be revealed back then, but now they go all out and, not so surprisingly, the end result was close to what Min-Liang Tan has leaked.

The Razer Edge will come in two configurations; Standard and Pro. Here’s the how the spec sheet looks like for the Pro version.

Razer has not yet shared the pricing for the Edge Pro, but judging from its configuration, we’re expecting its price to be pegged around USD1,400 – USD1,600. If you’re aiming for a cheaper alternative, you might want to opt for the Standard which is said to retail for little under a grand (USD999). However, because the standard is cheaper, the internals are a bit modest compared to the Pro.

Note that the only significant differences between the two models are the GPU, RAM and Dedicated GPU, everything else is virtually identical. These Razer Edges are destined for shipping this quarter and hopefully it won’t be long before it make its local debut.

Along with the announcement of the Razer Edge, the company also unveiled three accessories to complement their brainchild. This includes the detachable controller (USD249), Entertainment Dockins Station (USD99), 40Whr Extended Battery (USD69) which, by the way, can be connected to either the controller or the upcoming keyboard dock which is slated for debut on the second quarter of the year.
