These sports cameras connect through NFC, Wi-Fi, GPS, and to a Live-View remote that can simultaneously control up to 5 Action Cams. Your smartphone can connect to the Action Cam and use the phone’s display for a live feed so you could properly angle your shots. When the Action Cam is paired to an Xperia device, captured photos are automatically saved to both devices. For videos, users still need to transfer them manually.

The new and included waterproof housing is 35% lighter and 25% smaller compared to its previous version. Its slim form factor was also designed to cut through wind and water.

There are also new accessories to go along with the new cameras:

RM-LVR1 Live-View Remote
AKA-CMH1 Chest Mount Harness
VCT-RBM1 Roll Bar Mount
BLT-UHM1 Universal Head Mount Kit
VCT-AMP1 Action Monopod
AKA-FL2 Float
ACC-DCBX Accessory Kit
VCT-SCM1 Suction Cup Mount

The AS30V is now available at all Sony stores nationwide, while the AS100V will come this April.

Really disappointing pricing by Sony. The HDR-100 (without the live view remote) is only $299 world wide. SRP here is 21,000. I really don’t understand the logic. The HDR-30 also has an SRP of $299 (without the live remote) but will be discounted to $249 once the HDR-100 is made available.

I think the pricing for the HDR-30 is ok, but the HDR-100 is waaaaay overpriced.
