Will.i.am to launch 14 megapixel iPhone kit

Listen to article

Music artists usually dive into launching headphones and clothing lines to complement their profession and celebrity status, but BEP’s Will.i.am takes it one step further by launching a kit that turns your iPhone into a 14 megapixel camera called the i.am+.

This iPhone camera accessory is not just a standard clip-on like the ones you see from olloclip. Instead, the i.am+ camera has a dedicated 14 megapixel camera with its own image sensor, optics, flash, and dedicated shutter button. It will be compatible with the iPhone 4, 4S and 5.”We have our own sensor and a better flash. You dock your phone into our device and it turns you smartphone into a genius-phone. We take over the camera.” – says Will.i.am.

So far details on specs and pricing have not been revealed but the i.am+ is set to be launched in London on November 28.

Ang daming haters. People, there is nothing wrong with variety. So what if Wil.I.Am or some black eyed shiz release their own tech gadget? Just because the artist says a lot shit in his music doesn’t mean his equipment is crap. Hindi pa nga nasusubukan *facepalm agad? And besides, if you don’t feel like it, then don’t buy it. I’m sure there are people willing to try it. Call them dumb, call them queer, call them whatever you like, basta may pambili, wala nang basagan ng trip. Tapos.

@Teknisyan
just looked at the specs of that tablet and i had another facepalm. specs are really bad for the price of $500. celebrity gadgets never fail to disappoint geeks like me.

I know but I think their just banking on their name and not the quality of the product.

@Teknisyan
Yeah, you’re right. It seems that you’re only paying for Soulja Boy’s name by buying that pricy tablet. I’ll never be a fan of gadgets named after celebrities because most of products I know that are named from celebrities are overrated and they usually have specs that’s lower than the competition.

Steve Jobs must be p¡ssed to know that crappy and redundant accessories like this are released for his beloved creation, the iPhone. Oh well, I hope Steve Jobs can handle the facepalm out there.

what the hell are they smoking? that stuff is more of a “toy” than an “accessory”. not to mention, that accessory adds bulk and weight to your iPhone that can shoot good photos with its lens alone. seems like another garbage product from those stupid celebs.

this accessory is meant for hipsters who don’t have an idea on how a conventional digital camera is more useful and affordable compared to that piece of crap. hipsters…hipsters everywhere!

“You dock your phone into our device and it turns you smartphone into a genius-phone”.

This quote from Will.i.am made me cringe.

Seriously? Turn a “smartphone” into “genius-phone”? What the hell are you talking about.

I really hate it every single time a celebrity releases a tech product even if they don’t have an idea on how it’s made and how it works in a scientific way.

Gadgets released by celebrities = silly.
