This Woof speakers is yet another one of those accessories dedicated to the growing market of iPod owners in the Philippines. Unlike the usual form factors we’ve seen with the Hamburger speakers and the X-Mini, this one is a bit different. Check out the photos and my quick review after the jump.
Yup, more like squarish, just so it fits the same form factor of iPods when attached to it.
The speaker has an output power of 1.7 watts but it’s loud enough for its size (50g). It has the proprietary Apple USB connector that you can attach to a Nano, iPod Classic and iPod Touch. When you plug it in an iPhone 3G, you get a pop up alert that it does not support the device but it still plays music just the same. This port also allows the device to share power from the iPod when it’s already drained.
At the back side, you get the switch and the volume controls as well as the collapsible diaphragms which mimics the resonance of a subwoofer so you get a nice solid sound quality. The diaphragm can be collapsed and twisted shut when the speaker is not in use. It has a built-in battery that can be charged via USB. For other music players or phoens with 3.5” jack, a retractable cable is also provided.
Woof is available in local iPod accessory stores (like PowerMac) for a suggested retail price of Php1,500.
Never really paid attention to the design. It’s purpose is to play music, and not as decor. Plus the hamburgers look better on laptops. This one though, is intended for PMP’s. The sound is very much same or even better on what you’ll expect from the hamburgers.
Does anybody knows where can i get a replacement for the wires of my WOOF? You can reach me at jet_javel****@****.***.. thanks
Where can I but this? Please let me know coz I am searching for a portable speaker for my laptop

The wires for my WOOF just got busted. Does anyone know where we can get these? You may contact me at ca96****@****.***. Thanks.
is this still available?..
Very good sound.
Tested this side by side with the burger and X-mini speakers. The sound quality of woof is really a level higher.
Nice set of speakers. Nice replacement for lousy netbook speakers and good upgrade on sound for the laptops.
@Pink: why you gotta be so tight and ask the man for free speakers. Filipinos are free loaders…girls specifically, why don’t ya get ya own its just for 1,500 bucks, it ain’t a big thing to shell out ,man…quit being a freeloader
great thing about this speaker is it serves as an emergency ipod charger for me.
uhmmm, so you have to hold your ipod or lie it on it’s side unless you will be covering one side of the speakers.
bulky
the design is a turn off for me…..
i don’t think it will blend well with my 2g touch
Yugger! you can give me one for my b-day! Ü Ahlabyers! hehe! Mwah!
I have one and the sound is amazing!
Ergonomics is an issue here.
I have a small logo one for my iPod but the quality I’m not very satisfied…. >_<
Share powers with the iPod? Errr… Need to juice the battery 2 times a day :)
hmmm… i dont know about the looks of the speaker. the way i see it, it doesn’t go well with iPod’s sleek design…
