23″ KTC Full HD 1080p LED TV at Php7,350

Our previous feature of the 32″ KTC LCD TV got a lot of interested people to grab one (we also gave away the unit) so I thought it would be great if we could feature the Full HD LED variant over at YugaDeals.

So who knows, we might also be giving away this review unit of the 23″ LED TV later on?

KTC is relatively an unknown brand in the TV and display market but the units we’ve tested so far have decent performance. The LED TV we have here is an entry-level unit with just a 23-inch (diagonal) display. It’s thin, it’s light and has good contrast you’d expect of any LED TV.

The screen has a matte finish although the bezel around it has a black, glossy finish. The wineglass stand is made of hard polymer and snaps in with 3 small screws from the bottom, up. Then, there’s that KTC logo that a number of people think of as an eye sore (but come to think of it, people don’t go to CDRKing for their nice logo).

The LED TV sports a wide number of ports at the back, including 2 HDMI ports on the side to allow you to hook it up to a media player or a laptop to get full 1080p output.

Display contrast is good enough (not the best we’ve seen around) and the matte finish of the screen seems to dumb down some of the brightness (although it helps a lot against glare). Response rate is decent and the built-in speakers does a good job in pumping out loud-enough sound volume.

The TV is good enough as a secondary unit in the house — probably in the bedroom or maybe in the kitchen counter top (if you can afford it, the maid’s room could use one too). I think the price is low enough to beat any other LCD or CRT TV you have around in the house (the 40-watt rating should also help save on electricity in the long run).

Check out the deal offer here.

P.S. Congrats to the first commenter who guessed the item category we’re doing this week. Will email you for shipment of your prize.

Disclosure: What we did in YugaDeals is talked to straight the distributor and we applied to become a dealer. We asked for the dealer price of the item and then passed it on to all prospective buyers.

So now we all know that there’s not really much margins when it comes to gadgets (unlike services or virtual goods) but whatever little savings or discounts we get, we try to pass it all on to you (bottomline: we make sure our deals are the cheapest around and we believe in giving people more options). Doesn’t that sound like sweet deal?
