Sony outs SmartEyeglass Developer Preview Kit

Sony is looking to join Google in the wearable market with their own smart eyeglass although it looks fairly crude compared to the Google Glass.

Unlike the Google Glass that there’s a tiny monitor attached to the glass hovering in front of you, Sony’s SmartEyeglass uses the glasses are also the screens.

The SmartEyeglasss comes with an accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, brightness sensor, and microphones, WiFi and Bluetooth to pair with your Android smartphone.

Here’s a video demo of Sony’s new prototype.

At the moment, this is just for developers so they can create apps for the SmartEyeglass. We hope the final product looks much more comfortable and less bulky.
