The 2013 election is fast approaching and if you haven’t had the time to check the place where you’ll cast your votes, worry not because there’s a pair of sites that you can visit to find out your designated voting precinct.
Of the two online precinct finders, the one that came from COMELEC (Commission on Election) is a bit more tedious to use as it requires voters to fill in their full name and complete date of birth. We say tedious because some people who have two or more first names (ex. John Michael, Maria Christina) may have some difficulty in using the site because the entries in required fields should match the information that they’ve provided during voter’s registration.
The one from Google , which was also used back in 2010 election, is easier as you’d only have to input the Region/City and Precinct Number. However, the one from COMELEC can provide you with more information other than your designated voting precinct unlike the one from Google.
It’s cool that COMELEC and even Google are making strides to help the upcoming election as hassle-free as possible. But finding your voting precinct is just the tip of the iceberg, weaving your way from hundreds of voters and going through the whole process is whole another story. Well, at least we have one aspect squared away, right?

You can also download the COMELEC Halalan 2013 app by ABS-CBN. It’s a very handy app. Just enter your Full Name and Date of Birth and you’ll see your Registration record including your Precinct # and Voter’s ID status. The app also gives you the latest news about the upcoming elections as well as the candidates, etc. The app is only available for Android and Windows Phone users. :)
