Tag Advertising @ 1000Tags.com

Inpired by the success of TheMillionDollarHomePage, here’s another intuitive idea — tag advertising.

Basically, what you do is bid on a certain tag and get shared or exclusive advertising for that tag. Say, you want to be listing under the “Filipino blogs” tag, you can pay at least $25 to be listed under it along with other people bidding on the same tag. Or, you can bid on a certain tag and get exclusive listing for it but that will cost you a lot more. The font size and the number of characters for the tag will dictate the amount of bids or ads it covers. More details can be found in their F.A.Q.

Really nice idea and why haven’t I thought of this before? :D

But wait… there’s more! You can get a free tag.

How? Easy. If you have a blog or a publicly archived email list and you liked – or disliked – the idea of “paid tag clouds” (not just limited to 1000tags.com), simply write up your thoughts and send it to [email protected].

yeah i added my site to a tag board and the amount of “bad” sites brings down the quality and you start to wonder why you bothered putting your own site on there in the first place
