Back in early 2003, before I switched to WordPress from my own custom-built blog CMS, there used to be several hard-core WordPress users around. Actually, there was even a WordPress Meet-up somewhere in UP Diliman at that time. Lorelle of WordPress even has a page up for such WordPress-related events.
After I was converted, I’ve evangelized about the greatness of WordPress and has since installed hundreds upon hundreds of WordPress blog. So, now that it looks like WP is a hands-down winner (practically default blog software around here), do we need a local WordPress Group or event such as the ones they have in Malaysia?
Is there anyone out there still with that original WordPress Group back in 2002/03 out there doing some projects or events?

Been looking for pinoy + wordpress group but the one Mae has mentioned is indeed so inactive I decided to cancel my membership.
This could be a good output from the upcoming Blogger party this January. What better venue to discuss this than during a face-to-face encounter with fellow Pinoy bloggers.

that would indeed be a very good idea… para naman meron local support sa mga nahihirapan gumamit ng wordpress… when i 1st blogged, it was during the time pa of b2, and when wordpress was born out of b2, i immediately switched and never looked back… maganda ito… sigurado sasali ako dyan…
We already have a pinoy wordpress group now. But a few years ago, I was talking to Gail about starting a wordpress-ph group, a local counterpart of the various groups in other international locations. Maybe we can discuss this with the current pinoywordpress yahoogroup and make something bigger and more official.
