Xiaomi 12T vs POCO X4 GT: Specs Comparison

Xiaomi recently unveiled two new smartphones and one of them is the Xiaomi 12T, sporting a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen, Dimensity 8100-Ultra, triple-rear cameras, and a large 5,000mAh battery. However, there’s another smartphone with similar specs and it’s already out on the market, the POCO X4 GT. Of course, they’re not exactly identical, but they have their own advantages. Find out in this comparison.

Display

The Xiaomi 12T and the POCO X4 GT almost has the same screen size. The former has a 6.67-inch while the latter has a 6.6-inch. That’s a 0.07-inch difference which is almost negligble. In terms of resolution, the 12T has a higher resolution at 446ppi, while the X4 GT has 407ppi, which is 39ppi, it won’t be noticeable, though, in every day use.

When it comes to panels used, the 12T uses AMOLED which produces deep blacks and punchy colors. The X4 GT, on the other hand, uses IPS LCD which has bright whites, more natural colors, and wide viewing angles. Each has its own advantages, so we’ll leave it to user preference. The two also have high refresh rates with the X4 GT having a higher 144Hz, versus the 12T’s 120Hz.

For protection, both are equipped with Gorilla Glass 5.

Processor

The 12T is powered by a MediaTek Dimensioty 8100-Ultra, while the X4 GT has the Dimensity 8100. The difference is that the Ultra version has improved CPU and GPU power efficiency, and better low-light performance for the cameras. Other than that, everything is identical. Both have 4x 2.85 GHz Cortex-A78 CPUs and 4x 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 CPUs, and Mali-G610 MC6 GPU. We expect the same level of performance.

Memory

The two devices are also identical when it comes to RAM and storage. We’re looking at 8GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1. No support for microSD cards on both.

Cameras

The 12T and X4 GT have triple-rear cameras. They have the same 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro. However the 12T has a higher resolution for the main at 108MP, compared to the X4 GT’s 64MP.

For the front camera, the 12T also has a higher resolution camera at 20MP, versus the X4 GT’s 16MP.

Connectivity and Features

Again, the two devices are identical in this aspect. Both have dual-SIM, 5G connectivity, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, IR blaster, and USB-C. They also have fingerprint scanners, with the 12T having it under the display, while the X4 GT has it on the side with the power button.

Battery

Going straight to the point, the 12T has a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging which can charge the phone from 2% to 100% in just 19 minutes, while the X4 GT has a slightly bigger 5,080mAh but with a slower 67W fast charging of 0 to 100% in 46 minutes.

Which one to get?

If you want a phone with an AMOLED screen with slightly higher resolution, improved processor, higher main and front camera resolution, and faster charging, get the Xiaomi 12T when it arrives in the Philippines, so far we have no word about that yet but we hope that they can price it competitively against the POCO X4 GT.

On the other hand, get the POCO X4 GT if you want an IPS screen with a higher refresh rate, a slightly higher battery capacity, and if you want it now as it is available in Lazada at PHP 17,990 for the 8GB + 128GB model, and PHP 18,990 for the 8GB + 256GB.
