This may be an overkill for some but let’s discuss each key aspects first before finally deciding which one wins, shall we?
It is apparent that the ZenFone Max Pro M1 wins in terms of display. The OPPO A83 didn’t have a bad configuration since this is the usual setup in this price range but the larger screen size and higher resolution of the Max Pro M1 has the A83 beat.
The ZenFone Max Pro M1 carries the latest Snapdragon 636 processor while the OPPO A83 is equipped with the Helio P23. Checking out the benchmark scores (seen above), the difference is significant. Users who want a better performing CPU and gaming experience, can put their money on ASUS’ battery king.
The main difference in their camera setups is the additional lens equipped in the ZenFone Max Pro M1’s rear shooters. Check out our sample photos here: ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 and OPPO A83
We all know that the main feat of the ASUS ZenFone Max series is their large battery capacities. The Max Pro M1 carries a larger battery capacity and lasts longer than the OPPO A83. Flash charge is also an advantage here but not so much since both of them yield the same charging time.
The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 (3GB) is priced at Php9,995USD 170INR 14,439EUR 162CNY 1,240 (see listing here) while the OPPO A83 is priced at Php9,990USD 170INR 14,432EUR 162CNY 1,240. In this comparison, it is a landslide win for the Max Pro M1 due to the device’s dominance in the majority of the key aspects. The OPPO A83 is still a good choice if the consumer isn’t much of an online shopper (Max Pro M1 3GB is exclusive only in Lazada).
