Best Smartphones of 2018 (PHP 8K-10K)

We’re back with our best smartphones of 2018 list, and this time we’re going to the juiciest segment, the under PHP 10K. The demand is big for this price range and smartphone brands have released a lot last year. If you’re having problems picking one, then we hope this guide will help.

Note: The smartphones listed are those announced in 2018 and are officially available in the Philippines. Highlighted are the best devices from each brand but we’re also including their alternatives.

Vivo Y91

One of Vivo’s best smartphones of 2018 in this price range is the Y91 for PHP 9,999. It has a 6.22-inch screen, Snapdragon 439, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 13MP + 2MP rear cameras, and a 4,030mAh battery.

Alternatives:

Vivo has plenty of alternatives starting with the Y81 at PHP 8,999. It has a 6.22-inch screen, Helio P22 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 13MP rear camera, and 3,260mAh battery. Another one is the Y71 (3GB RAM) for PHP 8,990 and sports a 6-inch screen, Snapdragon 425, 16GB of storage, 13MP rear camera, and 3,360mAh battery. And then we have the Y91i for PHP 8,499 which is basically the twin of the Y91 but with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.

OPPO A3s

OPPO’s entry in this list is the A3s for PHP 9,990. It has a 6.2-inch screen, Snapdragon 450, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 13MP + 2MP rear cameras, and 4,230mAh battery.

Honor 9 Lite

The Honor 9 Lite is tricky as it was announced in 2017 but only arrived in the Philippines in 2018. It’s still a good option for PHP 9,990, and sports a 5.6-inch screen, Kirin 659 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 13MP + 2MP rear and front cameras, and 3,000mAh battery.

ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1

If you want a smartphone with a big battery and good mid-range chipset, then take a look at the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 (3GB + 32GB) for PHP 8,995. It has a 6-inch screen, Snapdragon 636, 13MP + 5MP rear cameras, and a huge 5,000mAh battery.

Huawei Nova 2 Lite

Huawei’s best smartphone in this price range is the Nova 2 Lite for PHP 8,990. It has a 5.99-inch screen, Snapdragon 430, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 13MP + 2MP rear cameras, and 3,000mAh battery.

Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite

You can always count on Xiaomi to release plenty of offerings in this price range starting with the Mi A2 Lite (3GB + 32GB) for PHP 9,490. It has a 5.84-inch screen Snapdragon 625, 12MP + 5MP rear cameras, 4,000mAh battery, and Android One.

Alternatives:

We have plenty of alternatives from Xiaomi like the Redmi 5 Plus (4GB + 64GB) with 5.99-inch screen, Snapdragon 625, 12MP rear camera, and 4,000mAh battery for. PHP 9,490. Next is the Redmi Note 5 (3GB + 32GB) with 5.99-inch screen, Snapdragon 636, 12MP + 5MP rear cameras, and 4,000mAh battery for PHP 8,990. And lastly, the Redmi 6 (4GB+64GB) with a 5.45-inch screen, Helio P22, 12MP + 5MP rear cameras, and 3,000mAh battery for PHP 8,190.

Alcatel 5V

Alcatel is still making its presence known in the country with the release of the Alcatel 5V for PHP 9,990. It has a 6.2-inch screen, Helio P22 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 12MP + 2MP rear cameras, and 4,00mAh battery for PHP 9,990.

Motorola Moto E5 Plus

Motorola is quiet nowadays in the Philippines but some stores are still selling the Moto E5 Plus for PHP 9,999. It has a 6-inch screen, Snapdragon 430 chip, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 12MP rear camera, and a large 5,000mAh battery.

    The Oppo A3s with a price of PHP 9990 is not a 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, thats only PHP 6990, you maybe referring to its 3GB/32GB variant rather.

    You should have included the Motorola Moto E5 Plus 3GB RAM+32GB ROM version.
